Hybrid Girls - Sale Alert (LOL)

I just got an e-mail from Michaels (craft store) for this week's sales and they have the “DASHES, DOTS & CHECKS” Ribbon on sale for $1 this week (50% off). They have some cute ribbon in this brand, I've gotten many spools of it before. I always stock up when they have ribbon on sale like this, I'm quite the ribbon freak. Anyway, just wanted to share :thumbup:

I am PO'ed at Michaels right now.

I called the closest Michaels (more than an hour drive) and asked if they had the Big Bite. When the girl said that they did, I almost FLIPPED!

I got up early this morning and made the drive, with bank card in hand, to buy the Big Bite, my first-ever Prima flowers, and anything else I saw that I couldn't live without.

I get to Michaels (practically running into the store), only to find that they do NOT have the Big Bite - only the regular Crop A Dile, they have NO Prima flowers AT ALL (only some other brand, and the only colors they had were hunter green, pepto pink, and Barney purple), and none of the self-stick chipboard buttons I've been wanting. :cursing:

What a wasted trip! I should have saved the gas money and just shopped online!! I guess that's what I get for living in the sticks... sheesh.
 
Ooh I love those ribbons - I have quite a few different colors & patterns but you can never have enough lol!

And Deanna that stinks that you made the trip all the way there for nothing! I have two Michael's stores in my area and the bigger one that is farther away from me (of course!) always has a much better selection than the other store. Seems like the closer store is always out of the things I want like the Prima Flowers and the different kinds of Inks, they had very few of those things last time I was there. And they hardly carry any chipboard albums while the other store has a whole aisle full! Hope you can locate the items online that you were wanting!

:blink: I WOULD'VE BEEN PISSED! I call almost daily about the Big Bite and never hear the answer I want but thankfully they do have the Prima flowers at the Michael's by me. Love those coupons!
 
gotta love getting the coupons!!! I'm on a mission for some tools for a hybrid project for Sara Amarie's blog on the 18th....
 
Woo-hoo! 11 new spools of ribbon now adorn my MM embellishment center- so pretty!! I also picked up a few cute stamps (40% off) and 20 foam brushes for a buck. Can't beat that. :)
 
I kinda gave up on Michael's with my last trip. The people who worked there had never heard of chipboard and certainly didn't know if they had any albums. They were like "we've got photo holders over there" and quite rude about it. I understand not everybody is a scrapper but good grief, if you work at a craft store don't you think maybe you've heard of chipboard before? Can you ask a manager or something? Especially when the store is empty and nobody is busy. DURH :cursing:
So I'll try the other Michael's in Durham and skip the one in Raleigh from now on. Now since we moved I am much further away. :unsure: But hey, with ribbons on sale I might just high tail it up there this week! Thank you for the heads up cindy, I am a total ribbon addict.
 
I"ve had the same chipboard problem at Michael's but also at AC Moore who is listed on Basic Grey's website as a carrier of the albums. Nope, no one has ever heard of it. Ugh.

I might go hit michael's tomorrow but i'm a very cautious hybrid scrapper & have a bunch of ribbon i've been to chicken to actually use! :o
 
I don't believe Michael's carries Basic Grey albums, only the Basic Grey embellies. That is too bad, huh? I'm thrilled the Sweet Shoppe is carrying all these great albums, so I don't have to hunt for them! In fact, I've never seen chipboard albums or bare chip at any Michaels. I'm not sure why.
 
I checked out Micheals today at lunch and got 20 rolls of ribbon!!!

Couldn't find and small chipboard alphas though.
