Okay, so there is a forest fire about 6-7 counties away from me, yet the smoke is all over us here. The actual fire is probably 100 miles away. My question is, it's kinda hazy and smokey, but not THICK smoke, like fog etc. My sister and I had plans to be goof offs and laze at the pool all day tomorrow and now she is calling me saying if the smoke doesn't go away before then we're not going. I say we can get sun even through the haze..it's really not THAT bad. Not even as bad as a slightly foggy morning. I know it's a stupid question but what do you guys think?

We get lots of forrest fires here in Colorado and the smoke usually comes into our area (even though the fires are far away) and its very rarely a problem. The only precaustion you need to take for the smoke is if you or your children (or sister or whatever) have any respritory problems like asthma. Then I would stay indoors. Otherwise, unless its crazy-smoky like the fire is really close, you'll be just fine. Your lungs might burn a little bit the next day, but if you're in good health, then you'll be fine.

I was in the San Diego fires last October. You'll still get sun, but I'd be worried about the lungs.

We get them here all the time too and I wouldn't go out in it, its really not good for you even it is just faint - its still all around you.
