I have started, and restarted, and started again on scrapping the birth story of my son, Wesley, who just turned 1! My birth story is long (I wrote out every detail b/c I didn't want to forget anything) - about 7 12x12" pages worth of journaling/images.

I have looked through galleries, tried to use several different baby-themed kits, etc - and nothing is giving me the feel that I'm looking for.

I think my hang up is that these are really important memories, and I want the pages to be perfect. Also - there is SO MUCH journaling. I'm used to 80% pics, 20% journaling - and these Birth Story pages are the opposite.

I really want to get this scrapped so that I can get Wesley's 1st Year album together.... but I'm really stumped on this one. Any ideas/suggestions/inspiration?

Just start with something. Anything. Find something that gives you a tiny bit of happiness and really like, and build from there.

And. Get over perfection. DOWN with perfection. There's no such thing. Getting it scrapped is what matters. No one else in the world will think it is anything BUT perfect when they see it.

I agree...start with what you feel most important about for the album and work from there.

If you are looking for kit suggestions Dani's Land of Nod is perfect for babies

I have that kit, and it's one that I'm trying to work with. I LOVE the kit, but I feel like I'm not "getting" something... not sure WHAT that "something" is, though.

I might put it aside for a few days and come back to it.

I think you need to browse through galleries and find a format you like. Decide which way you are going to present the journalling and go from there. Set out your journalling the way you want it, then play around with the papers and elements beneath it till you find something you like. Maybe the troubles you're having is that you can't visualise the end product. Just a thought.
