View Full Version : What do you do when....
your ink sponge falls off the plastic thing? I was super excited to use my new cats eye ink and on the very last page of the mini album the sponge fell off now not only do I have a messed up ink pad but I also have a finger print on the page :( My OCD can't take it...lol so I am just ignoring it for now but how do I get the sponge back on the plastic and has this ever happened to anyone else?

I use the sponge ones on wooden stick things....(lol WHEN I juse them!) but maybe a dab of supergue or something might hold it on at least long enough to finish your project?
I've used Diamond Glaze/Glossy Accents to put them back in place in the past and that's worked :)

Yup, I've stuck mine on with glossy accents too which works for a short while but to be honest I've just bought new as once it's fallen off it keeps falling off

Colorbox is aware that this happens and they have recently redesigned the product but there really is no way of knowing whether you have an old or new one, I don't believe there was a recall for retailers. You can try a little hot glue or adhesives that others mentioned above short of buying a new one.

I don't buy those anymore b/c it was happening a lot. I buy the Versa Dew Drops...and yeah, it still happens but I've found not as often.
I glued one back to the plastic thing with GORILLA GLUE! It worked wonders. And it's a great glue to have around the house. Michael's, Joann's, etc. carry it.

I haven't had mine come apart yet, but I need to get new ones because the ink is nearly dried up on both mine, lol...
Thanks so much girls for all the replies I am gonna try the glue and see what happens from there.

I HATE it when that happens!!! I've tried to glue it back on with tacky glue but like the others, it only works for a bit then falls off again. I buy new ones too but have resorted to holding the pad with a baggie over my hand (like a "baggie glove") to appy it and keep it from getting on my hand. :cursing:

YESS!!!! This stuff is AWESOME! I haven't used it to reglue a sponge, but I know it would work great b/c that stuff will stick ANYTHING together!!

I DO NOT use the ink pad dirrectly for this reason, I use a seperate sponge, a normal kitchen one will do, just cut it into small peices. Ink up the sponge and then ink up your pages, HTH
