and man does it smell good! The sauce is on the stove, I can smell it all the way in here. I swear my stomach is growling LOL. I guess maybe I can have about two spoon fulls if I don't wanna gain back the little piddly amount of weight I lost.
Yesterday was me and hubby's anniversary. He had to work until 11 last night and has to work until 6 today :( He couldn't get outta work. Already took off over a week early this month so we could move. I guess that's just life for you. But mom is picking up my daughter tonight at 6 for vacation bible school so at least we'll get a couple hours together kid-free when he gets home. With the lasagna and some of my el-cheapo sutter home white zinfandel that I crack open a few times a year. YUM!

The "real" anniversary as in when we started dating is in Sept, and it'll be 9 years. So we'll celebrate then :)

Ramble ramble blah blah. Yeah, what I was going to ask - anybody else cooking today?

I need to make some lasagna. We haven't had it in a while.

Jordan's making pizza's. We were gona all weekend and he turns the AC off to save our electricity bill. It was almost 90 in here, def didn't put me in the mood to cook anything (not that I cook anyway, lol!).

Rob is outside grilling steaks (for us) & hot dogs (for the kids lol) now and I'm fixing baked potatoes, baked beans and salad to go with them! He is usually playing softball on Sunday's so we don't eat a big meal all together, but the team they were supposed to play tonight forfeited the game yesterday!

The stuff was way too good to keep snarfing it down so I only ate a normal serving and had to run away from the table. Seriously! I'll have to freeze 3/4 of it and I'm off to take some to my aunt now. It was huge! That recipe is killer. But probably not good for those with heart conditions, high cholesterol, etc :p

Hubby needs a new grill. Shawna you've got me wanting to get him one now!

Does microwaving a container of Tostito's salsa con queso count as cooking? :p

If not... no cooking here! *lol*

Oh that does look really good. Congrats on the anniversary. I was going to make steaks and potatoes tonight but my hubby had a sandwich not long ago and Kim said she didn't want anything so I may settle for a bag of popcorn.

I made Jollof Rice Ghana - it's an African Chicken & Rice Stew that I dug up from my old recipes to try on my hubby. Hadn't made it for 8-9 years, so I was a bit unsure if he would like it, but he did. Wish I could remember where I got the recipe from, but it's really low fat and very flavorful so I imagine Cooking Light, maybe. It's one of those that you throw some stuff in the pot, cook a half hour, throw some more stuff in the pot and cook it another 1/2 hour, then done. Great for weekends!

It stopped raining long enough for DH to slip outside and BBQ our angus burgers, yum! I made a dijon/dill potato salad and a greek spinach salad to go with them.
