she s on the way to the hospital and im sitting here freaking out and just hysterical. Im waiting for my husband to get here so I can leave for the hospital and be with her. They said she def has a broken nose and her face is irreconizable. Shes is the light of my life and im very maternal towars her and IM fuming! I Better not find out who did this, I swear. I feel so helpless!

So sorry to hear this! I hope she recovers and is able to identify and testify against them - the best thing you can do is be strong for her and tell her she did not deserve this. While she is a victim, she needs to rise above "victim" feelings and defend herself through legal means. At her age, she is at an age where things like this can affect her sense of self-worth in a negative way - your job as a big sister (and for those around you) is to counteract that and make her feel positive about herself - she's going to have an emotional battle that will be a lot longer than her physical recovery. OK, I'm getting off my soapbox now.
I hope and pray that these boys are caught, get what they deserve and that she makes a full recovery physically and mentally, maybe even becoming stronger in the process.

Thank you so much for your positive thoughts, heres a little updatea nd I apologize if this gets long or confusing...

So today she went to a convience store with three of her friends. She does smoke which isnt a good thing but anyhow she was almost finished smoking and her friends had gone in ahead of her. She was about to go in when someone behind her told her to give them her money. She had nothing on her but a pack of cigarettes (3 cigarettes actually and that was it ) She had no pockets so her friends had her cell phone and money in her purse for her in teh store) They then grabbed her by her waist and slammed her into the concrete and continued to kick her in the back of the head smashing her face into the sidewalk. Someone even bit her!! She also had hair ripped out of her head and her nose was completely crushed. When my mom called I had no clue what to expect but when I got to the er and saw her I just couldnt contain my emotion and I just ran to her and wept like a little girl, it was awful. Her face is swollen beyond recognition and she has a the shattered nose and concusion. She also has a couple loose teeth, a lot of bruising and of course shes just really distraught. My parents had pressed charges an called the police so they had written a report and she made a statement. They took photos but we continuted to find things at the hospital she wasnt aware of when speaking ot the polic so I had my camera and took a lot of pictures. Still I am ten years older then my sister and whenever I would look at her sweet face I would just cry. She has no clue who did it only that it was 4 MEN! And it was teh third attack in her town that day according to the police. We all stayed at moms with her, I actually just got home and I am going back tomorrow to be with her. She may even be staying with me for the summer. Now I have to get these pictures on the computer to email my mom so she has more evidence and they are so graphic and just gut wrenching and im dreading looking at them. Anyhow if you made it through this thank you so much. I really apprecaite your prayers and continuted support. I hope they figure out who did this and get them off teh street because the next person might not be so lucky!

Thank you so much ladies, I just got off the phone with her and she seems to be a bit more upbeat which is good. This is my beautiful sister before today. She is still absolutely gorgeous of course but I thought I would share with you all how sweet and beautiful she really is. I just sent those pictures off to my mom and was in disbelief at what they did to her.

Thank you again ladies! It was horrific and insanely random and I am so glad of course it wasn't personal as I doubt they would be coming looking for her again. Still I just can not help but thing WHY my baby sister and what kind of men would do this to a child. I do hope they find them for others sake as well. The next person may not be so lucky. Tricia is a strong amazing girl. I called late last night to check on her because I knew she wouldn't be able to sleep and she sounded a bit more upbeat at least. My parents let a bunch of her friends sleep over with her. She sees the ENT today and then we are all going to my grandmothers to just be around her and let her know that we are here for her. I am still pretty exhausted from yesterday. Its so hard to think that I couldn't have been there to protect her. Logic says I probably wouldn't have been able to do much but my heart makes me just want to go looking and hurt who ever did that to her. To hear that she was crying out for me really just rips my heart out. Thank god I have a great support system and my husband came straight home to be with the kids and my best friend left work to take me to her so I got to get there asap. Anyhow i am rambling on and on but I just wanted to say that you women are so inspiring and wonderful! We really appreciate all the prayers right now. I am so greatful to have such a wonderful group of women to lean on. I know if I would not have been able to get that out last night feeling the way I was I would have never got any peace at all. I have been trying to wrap my head around this since reading about it at DST last night and well, of course, I just can't. I just can't begin to comprehend this mentality. It is cowardly and sick and just downright sociopathic. I hope they are caught and punished to the full extent of the law but, honestly, my faith in such justice is not strong. Although it's wrong, a big part of me hopes they are made to feel powerless and are beaten senseless. I'm not a violent person by nature, but things like this just make me want to take a baseball bat to these lowlife scumbags. It makes me so angry and so sad and so ashamed of what human beings can be capable of.

My 16yo nephew was jumped just before Christmas. Not nearly to this extent, fortunately for him, but I know how angry, horrified and sad it made all of us feel. He was very lucky that his face was not messed up, but he did have a broken jaw and had to spend his Christmas Eve getting xrayed so the specialist could decide whether he'd require surgery on Boxing Day to have his jaw re-aligned. Fortunately, he didn't have to.

What made me so angry about his incident was that it happened at school. Not by other students, but by two ex-students, 18 and 19, that were hanging out on the school grounds at lunch. My nephew was walking past with a friend and one of them said, "What are you lookin' at?" My nephew naturally said, "Nothing," and the other macho jerk says, "Oh, you think I'm nothing?!" and shoves him. Then the two of them jump him, one held him down and the other started pounding him in the face. My nephew isn't a big kid, and these guys are the musclebound 'roid popping types, not to mention are supposed to be young adults. Way to be the big men, jerkfaces. WTF is wrong with people like this?! I'll just never understand.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, Sarah. This just made me angry about that all over again, and I'm so angry and sad for what happened to your poor baby sister. I hope she can get through this and be strong once again. She is such a beautiful girl, and this is so unfair. Lots of good thoughts and love is being sent your family's way, Sarah.
