UGH UGH UGH! We have two dogs, both are still sorta considered "puppies", one is 7 months old, the other is probably 14 months old or so, but they are both big dogs. One is a lab and the other is some kind of german shepherd. They are always and forever getting into the trash and anything left anywhere near them is fair game to be chewed. So guess what they got to today? my brand new $150 tent that we have only used for one weekend! AARGGGGGGGGGGH! I literally cried. We have a camping trip planned this weekend and now my DH is on his way back to Sam's club to buy a new one. That $150 could have been put to so many other uses. They are just so destructive, seems like every time I turn around something else has been destroyed. The clincher is, my dh had put the tent WAY up in the garage when we got back from our last trip, one of the kids messed with it and got it down and left the case unzipped. It had a really nice heavy canvas case and had it been zipped properly this would not have happened. I feel like putting my kids and the dogs on the side of the road with a sign that says "will work for tent money".
I know I probably sound like the worst mom ever, but we were scrimping to go on this trip as it was but we had planned to rent a canoe for the boys and all kinds of fun stuff we don't normally get to do.
I know this is rambling long but we normally take this other family with us camping. They are very poor, don't ever have any extra cash, etc and I usually end up footing the entire bill, groceries and all (and I don't usually mind too bad) but this time was supposed to be JUST our family and we were going to do some special things that we can't do when we have them with us and now we are lucky to even be able to go still
I know I sound whiney. I'll get over it I know and have a good time anyway, but it sure is nice to have a place to vent!
anyone know where I can pick up some cheap muzzles? ROFL
