Relay for Life

Kimberly and I will be walking in the Relay for Life this year. I hate knowing that there isn't much chance that there is a one of us who hasn't been touched by cancer in some way. For us it was the loss of both my husband's parents. He was 12 when he lost his dad and 25 when he lost his mother. And now I have a dear Uncle who is doesn't have long. I'm really looking forward to making this walk with my little girl and teaching her that we need to do what we can to help others.

Off to your page now!! We're big Relayers, too... My DH is an 11-year survivor. Have a great time at your event!

Sending you a PM, too.

What an awesome thing you are doing! My aunt just passed April 8 and the Relay in the area she lived (and also participated in for years) is on her birthday.
The team walking in her name (co-workers, nurses, friends) have named themselves the TWEE-DEES in honor of my aunt, Dee and her love of Tweety Bird. :) They are decorating their tent as a birthday party and my whole family is going to cheer them on.
I think what you are doing is so awesome!

I have done the Relay every year (see my siggie) for about 5 years but it never meant more to me than this year. I lost my dad to Lung cancer on 3/23/08. Then on 4/22/08 my ex-FIL died of Lung cancer (he would never go to the doctor and only found out he had cancer 3 weeks before he died), my FIL passed away 12/21/06 of lung cancer. It's a terrible terrible thing and I love Relay for Life because not only does it raise much needed money for awareness and treatment but it such a wonderful way to honor those you love and I will continue to do it every year.

((hug)) i did my first relay for life with my mom and sister for my grandma (passed away 2 months ago today) and my great grandma (passed away in 2001) We had a great time.

Karen thanks again for your donation.

I'm really looking forward to the evening and sharing the time with family and friends honoring those that we've lost and helping to support those who have survived and those who are fighting.
