There is a cricket somewhere down in our unfinished concrete basement that has literally been chirping for 2 solid hours without even stopping ONCE!! And for some reason the sound is carrying through the whole house and its getting inside my head and driving me crazy! Even my boys are having a hard time falling asleep because its so loud! I think this cricket is on steriods cuz I've never heard a cricket chirp this loud.
So, wish me luck. Me and my heavy shoe are going on a cricket hunt.

rofl Jenny! I would be insane! Good Luck finding him! I remember when we had one..everytime I would move he would shut up! uggg I was slap nuts!

omg that is too funny....well not funny for you but funny for us.....you should catch him and let him go....I hear it is bad luck to kill them....lol

ROFLMBO!!! You should catch him and keep him as a pet! LOLOLOLOL! I hope you find him soon! Update (with pictures - hehe) when your hunting season is over!

ahahaha!! i thought you were going to catch a game of cricket with your chaps...wrong cricket i suppose.

Sorry it took this long to update, girls. I know you were all on the edge of your seats awaiting the final word on my cricket hunt.
I am happy to report that the cricket is no longer a problem. I went searching for my little cricket friend and found him NOT in my basement, but rather in the sliding track of my patio door. He was HUGE (hence, the insanely loud chirping) and very confused. He just stood with his head against the metal of the sliding door having a 'roid rage. So I slid open the sliding door hoping that it would squish him (yes, I'm evil but this guy pissed me off). But rather than squish him, sliding open the door somehow gave him an escape route. So he happily jumped out of my house and directly into... the dog's water bowl. So yeah. He drowned. But it wasn't my doing! Perhaps he should look before he jumps! Thats whatcha get for gettin' hooked on the 'roids I tell ya!
