PSCS2 or CS3?

Has anyone used both? What's better about CS3 vs CS2?

I've used both. Honestly, I find that most of the features that are different between the two are really more on the photography side of things. There are other differences of course, and now I'm wracking my brain to remember them... LOL! So that goes to show you it's nothing too drastic between the two!

I've only used CS3. I upgraded from Elements 4. LOL

I just upgraded from CS2 to CS3 when I switched from my PC to a Mac. So far I'm not noticing any real differences. The tool palettes are designed to use up less space which is nice and they are much easier to move around and customize than they were in CS2. Also Adobe Camera Raw seems to have quite a few more features than it did in CS2 - it's much more similar to Lightroom. Since I use Lightroom anyway, I'm not sure that's such a big deal for me but it is nice on the occasions when I don't want to have to open up Lightroom. CS2 also isn't supported for either Windows Vista or Mac Leopard so that's something to take into consideration as well if you use either of those.

Ditto to what Lynette said, I haven't noticed anything so different between the two. In fact, I took a Photoshop class the summer that CS3 came out and the instructor, certified in both, said the differences were minimal. I love that the pallets take up so much less room too.

I've used both extensively and like the other ladies mentioned, there aren't too many differences. I do like the smart filters that CS3 has to offer, as well as the advanced "refine edge" and the quick selection tool. There is also a black and white adjustment that CS2 does not have (although I mostly use gradient maps in my conversions anyway). CS2 comes with IR and with CS3 it's integrated, but with slightly less functionality. For example, image mapping is a major PITB in CS3 (IMHO), so I will usually revert back to CS2 or avoid it ... same with glitter if you ever do animated noise, it's a bit more clunky. I do prefer the workspace of CS3 because you can minimize your palettes to small icons on your desktop. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be happy with either program.

i wish i had one of those, lol. i just have photoshop elements 6. which i love, but sometimes i wish i had cs3. but no way would my DH let me pay that much for a computer program, lol.
