View Full Version : I have so had it with Comcast.

Okay.. so yesterday.. internet and phone go out. This has happened before, so I've learned to report technical problems as the phone and not the internet.. since if you tell them you have no dial tone, they have a tech to you w/in 24 hours.

Comes back on 2 hours later.. fine. All is fine rest of yesterday and most of today. 1 pm.. it's out again. Out until about 3.. then back on for like 10 minutes and gone again. So at 4:30 I call. Chick tells me we have a standing service appt for today and there will be a tech there today. Fine. Then I think, crap, I wonder how late they work? So I call back. Get a different tech. They closed my trouble ticket and marked it as solved. :cursing: WTF? They said I wasn't home at 1:30. Um.. yes I was. Been home since 11:30, thankyouverymuch. At least this time I got a tech who was willing to do something, since the one yesterday wasn't. She told me what to do to get the dial tone back, and since it's a phone modem, that restores my internet too.

They're still sending a tech out.... but not until next Saturday. Freaking morons. :cursing:

Okay... thanks for letting me vent. :thumbup:

Ugh. I am so with you. We have Comcast here and they stink!!! Sorry! I hope it gets resolved soon.

Comcast is pretty much the worst ever. That SUCKS Sara. You definitely have to keep on them or they get nothing done. :(

That is so true. I've had to call 5 times once to get them to actually come out for the service call that they were "supposed" to do. They take forever, too.

I have heard nothing but horror stories about Comcast. SO glad they aren't around here.

Really?? Everytime we've had Comcast we loved them. We have internet through them right now and its fine. We have dishNetwork for cable and hate it. once our contract is up with them (nex freaking March) we're switching everything over to comcast. I'm about to get a comcast phone turnned back on too. It must depend on where you live, cause though we hate dishnetwork, i get other people who have no problems with them, lol.

The most recent time I had to deal with Comcast was about a year ago. I was waiting for them to come and somehow their system cancelled my appt. Anyway they gave me a credit of $20 or so. I think it was their sorry-we-wasted-your-time credit.

hope you get everything sorted out.

Oh honey I hate comcast too and can totally feel your pain!! We have totally been there with them more times then I can count!! One time our interent went down and we had vonage at the time and they kept cancelling our service appointments cause they couldn't reach us on the phone. I was like WTF! We had to borrow a cell phone and let them know for the 10th time that there was NO way to reach us on the phone without the internet and it turned out to be like 3 weeks before they fixed our internet! Anyhow hope they get it all worked out babe!

I would call every single day to make sure they were really coming. But I'm obnoxious like that when it comes to my internet :P

We had no choice but to get DSL through comcast (well, the other choice was verizon dial up, which really, isn't a choice, LOL!). We've only had a few problems with them, thank goodness. The last time was a few months ago when a whole node went out and it wasn't fixed for like 2 days. Like, how the heck do you pull that ofF??

We have Directv, and we're midly obsessed. It'll be perfect when Verizon (who's partnered wtih Dtv) gets either fios or dsl in our area. We went with directv JUST so that comcast wouldn't have our tv service.

Grrr! How frustrating! I'm with you, Comcast is on my poo poo list too. We have them and only laziness prevents us from switching. I could go on and on. I saw the customer service ratings and Comcast is on the top 10 worst customer service companies in the country!!!!

UGH! That sucks! I'm glad we don't have Comcast! I am always hearing horror stories about them! They don't offer it in our town! We have had Verizon for quite some time with no problems!

Add me to the list of Comcast haters. I continually experience internet dropping. Basically, I am surfing and then a page will take FOREVER to load. If I refresh, sometimes it comes back. They sent a guy out who "turned up" our signal...whatever the hell that means. He said it shouldn't happen anymore, but guess what? It is. So someone is supposed to be coming out tomorrow. I won't hold my breath.

Seriously considering switching to Verizon FIOS.

Susan if they offer fios in your area I've heard nothing but awesome things about it. I'd totally switch. They don't offer it in our area (with Verizon they don't even have DSL which is why we're stuck wtih Comcast for our internet) or we'd have it. Jordan almost had a heart attack of joy when he read about it, lol.

What is FIOS? I don't know if they offer it here, but if it'll get me away from Comcast I'll certainly consider it! lol

Yeah...I really want to look into it because I have heard that the internet speeds are much faster on FIOS. That said, I think you have to pay more for a fast connection (maybe they have levels of speed). My hubby is worried about the television selection and is not eager to switch. I just have to bring him along....because I can't take this Comcast anymore. They suck!

I'm fairly certain their cable selection is excellent as well. But, I don't really know. I'm sure if you looked into it on their site you'd find out more than I know, lol.

Tracie, Fios is fiber optics. AKA crazy fast.
