Just a little thank you for SSD

Thank you for being the only place in digiland that I can get kits without living things on them, not a single twig, live flower, or butterfly insight! (why some people would staple a live butterfly to their page is beyond me...)

I just don't get this style, so I am going to stick around here! (obviously no offence to those that are diggin' this style, its just not my thing!)

Hahaha!

I mean, I don't staple the real butterflies to my page, but I do love the realistic look. I try and make my pages look like paper pages, so I love twigs and leaves and flowers and butterflies and the like :)

ETA: No offense taken girl!! I mean, stapling a butterfly? Come on now! :D Regardless, it's good to know what you love, and it's even better that you find it here :)

I also really dig the realistic style, but I doubt I would staple a butterfly lol. It seems cruel LOL. Im glad you find what you love sweetheart!

LOL, I'm not too big a fan of that style either. But I remember trolling through the web one time and actually saw a kit with a wheelbarrow. That was a bit much for me (no offense meant to those who can scrap this way!)

ACTUALLY rofl there is :o , some of my stuff is very realistic and I even got twigs in a kit too LOL!

I love me a good real flower and I bet I could even use a twig or two...but yea...I might draw the line at a stapled butterfly :D :D

LOL. I used to laugh when people starting putting "real" things onto their paper scrapbook pages -- like nuts & bolts, wire, etc. Now, I kinda like the "real" look -- even though it's really not real. How's that for confusing?!

See, I like realistic too, but I like realistic buttons, bows, ribbons, silk flowers, paper flowers etc...I have tried the twig thing, and even used a real butterfly, but I prefer to have my digi pages look more like real scrapbooking pages. I don't do a lot of blending or extracting either.

Glad you are finding what you like here!! The Sweet Shoppe has such a great variety of designs and (unfortunately, for my bank account) I love all types of styles so I'm a fan of practically the whole store! LOL!

I totally agree with you here. When I paper scrapped, I never went outside and got twigs and berries and leaves for my pages. I like my pages to look realistic too, but I like realistic like you like realistic - buttons, bows, ribbons, silk flowers etc.

Yeah, that's sooo not my style either, but I think the pages that look like they have 20 pounds of berries, twigs, and leaves on them are beautiful. LOL! I tell stories with my pages, so that's just not my thing since the story tends to get lost in all the stuff. They are pretty though.

I think that's why I love it here. I like pages that look like real paper pages and everything here lends itself really well to that.

ITA. :)

I love both styles however I can not scrap realistic pages except for the ribbons buttons and all that jazz.....I can not scrap the other stuff I have tried just did not work out....lol

That's what I love about this community..so many different styles and tastes and opportunities to create with your preference of goodies.

While I love my pages to look like "real" pages, I rather like the realistic look myself. And I love SSD because there are bits from all styles.

hey I like butterflies.. and leaves. So :p LOL..

I think we have a great mix of styles here.. both scrapping and designing, makes me happy :)

I prefer to use duct tape and screws on my real butterflies, I find that they struggle less.........

LMAO!!!!!

ROFLMAO!!!!! :::spewing coffee all over my desk:::

I do looove the "twiggy, leafy" realistic look, but can't pull it off myself, not that good anyway. I actually find it amazing when I can't tell between a digi-scrapped and paper-scrapped page with how the shadow work is done, the placement of buttons and twine. Now that's some talent. That's why one of my fave challenges here is the paper-2-digi.

Jennifer I love the realistic look but I just plain suck at it. Every time I try to play with twigs and stuff- a total out of place mess. So I KNOW what you mean girl! There is pretty stuff and trendy stuff and I like it but I just can't seem to get it to look right. I never have any trouble actually using the kits here.

You totally got me! I was not expecting that! I LOVE it!

Anyways, back to the real topic. I feel exactly the same as you Jenn, I can't grasp putting a tree on my page.

OH SAMARA THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU!!! (Opps did I give myself up?? ... LOL)

Oh well I do have a couple (as in 2) of leafy, fairie woodsy LOs but that is not really my style.
Is fun how everybody wants to see their LOs "realistic"... I'm quite the oposite. I love what digi can do and I don't care if some things looks "unrealistic". And I'm not afraid to say: I don't like pink and I don't like ribbons... LOL. Maybe this is why my LOs are not popular... LOL

Also 99% of my LOs are keepsakes so I don't left too much room to "artsy". And I think a stapled butterfly is gross... LOL (not the paper ones, but the real ones). Actually I had one in a kit long time ago and the darn thing looks so dead that almost makes me puke.

And for the shopping spree... well, you know me, I help Robin to pay the bills with my weekly purchases... LOL

I do love to look at those layouts..and have bought many a twig and leaf and then just let them "die" pardon the pun....on my hard drive because I really am quite inept at using them, lol. SSD fits me to a "T" in that it's the only store I can think of that literally just about EVERY single item is my "style".

I have seen amazing LOs with that stuff, but I personally am not very good at scrapping with it. I scrap the way I feel that things would look on paper, so there are a few elements such as that, that I struggle with, because I just can't picture it on a paper scrapped page. I'm Old Skool I guess LOL

I scrap both styles... when I do a twig & berry LO ;) I tend to think of it as something that I would frame and put in a shadow-box that could accommodate the dimension, if that makes sense, rather than something I would include in a scrapbook album. That's how I justify it, because I really love realism too!

I actually do really like the the naturey stuff. I have never in my life paper scrapped so maybe that's why?? I can't pull it off like some people though, but I do like it. I am very eclectic and like lots of different things.

My thoughts, exactly!;)
