ELF Makeup STEALS!!

I just wanted to tell all my girlie friends about this awesome deal! One of my CT friends emailed me about this makeup: ELF. Apparently they are changing logos (edit: apparently that's not true...LOL!) so most of their makeup is only $1!!! They also sell mineral makeup, which I have been wanting to try for a really long time, but I just can't justify spending $40 on a one month supply. Well, I bought the mineral starter kit (concealer, foundation, blush, face brush, blush brush, and a case) and it is only $20! I also ordered some lip gloss and eyeshadow, each only $1. PLUS, I used this coupon code (CAROLINA) which took $7.50 off my order. So, for all that makeup I spent $21 including shipping! Amazing deal, huh?! I never buy makeup. I've had the same eyeshadow for 3 years now. Sad, I know. The only stuff that needs replenishing every few months is my mascara and foundation. My foundation is horrible. Feels bad on my face... leaves a horrible orange line... and is almost $10 anyways... so I feel completely justified in spending this money on some makeup! I hope it's good!! If any of you are interested in getting some, PM me your email and I'll earn points for referring you to earn toward a gift card! WOOT! :)

I'm anxious to see what you think about it!

It is actually always $1 and has been around for a couple years now... but I haven't tried it. Not that I care that much about my makeup, but I get a little skeptical about $1. But I could totally use that mineral starter kit! Anyway, let us know how you like it or if anyone else has tried it let us know!

Good to know! LOL!
I figure it can't be worse than the cheapo Target stuff I get, right? I never buy the nice department store stuff...

The mommie's on my mommy board are RAVING about this stuff! I was bummed that they didn't ship overseas, but then saw they have a British site also. I want to nab some stuff myself!

Exactly--me either! I've been wanting some eye shadow (I don't wear any ever) and this would be perfect to try out. Plus, their brushes are great deals!

YAY! So glad to hear it's good stuff! I just bought it without doing any research. LOL!

I have spent about $50.00 on their stuff and here's my opinions:

Note: very small containers for $1.00

Mineral makeup. Pretty good. I put it on and then put my MaryKay creme to powder foundation on top of it. Their blush is REALLY, REALLY light. Plus I used MK Bronzer after my foundation is on.

Eyeshadow - only OK. It breaks up really, really easy though so don't carry it around in your purse. Still like MK better.

The Super Glossy Lip Shine in the tube is nice. The stuff with color on one and and clear on the other isn't as great. Doesn't seem to have much color and the containers break easily.

I like their brushes. I like their eyelash curler.

I hate their mascara.

ETA: My first shipment took about 2 weeks. The second one took just over a week. Depends on what they have "in stock" I guess...

I just ordered a few things like the get the look smokey eyes, the mineral foundation, a couple of the lip glosses, and i think the creamy i shadow...i ordered it tuesday night and its still showing that is processing my order..

Mineral make-up is the best!! I highly recommend the higher priced companies, such as Bare Minerals, or ELF. I use Bare Minerals and I absolutely love it!! It is rather expensive but since you only need a small amount, it is really worth it. I love the way it makes my skin look and feel. I compared the ingredients of Bare MInerals to the ELF products and they are very similar, so it is a really great deal.

The mineral make-ups produced by maybelline, Loreal, etc., are not a very good quality and have more fillers than real minerals and they do not work the same, i tried the Loreal mineral make-up and I did not like it at all.

I am lucky because where I live in VA, there is a store that sells Bare Minerals, so I can just stop in and get what I need without having to pay for shipping and handling and wait for it to come in the mail. :)

I wouldn't waste my money on ELF, it's definitely a "you get what you paid for" type deal. I wouldn't use it if they paid me to take it, the stuff is just awful.

I definitely agree with buying the more expensive minerals. Not because they're more expensive, but because they're of a higher quality than the other stuff. I used to use Bare Minerals, but kept having reactions to the product. There are a good number of small companies that make a great mineral product. There's a really great list of those companies here.

Lots of mixed reviews about ELF! LOL! I guess I'll just have to wait and see since I already ordered it. I'm sure it's not as nice as the fancy schmancy Bare Minerals, but I've never tried it so it might be okay for me. But yeah, I've been reading that their shipping is SLOW.
