Burning smell coming from my computer??

I started my computer up this morning and there is this slight burning smell coming from it!! I opened it up and looked around, touched stuff and nothing looks like it is burning and all my temps appear to be OK, so WTH is the smell coming from?? :blink:

Dust bunnies? My old desktop tower attracted them like crazy. Other than that, I dunno, but I'd be somewhat worried. :unsure:
 
Eve, are all of your fans working properly? Many times that burning smell comes from a fan that might be slightly off and rubbing against something.
 
Ya fans are all working! I'll have DH take a peek when he gets home. The smell comes and goes, but man is it starting to give me a headache. :(
 
I would take the back off and give it a good air cleaning and check all your wires. I had that happen to me when my hard drive blew up at work, but there was actually smoke billowing out of it too. Good luck Eve!
 
Well DH took it all apart and cleaned it out well and it started back up without any smell..so I guess it will remain a mystery! LOL

Eeeew! We had one get in our rear projection TV. Just a little one, and we could see him against the screen sometimes when we were watching. :D Not sure whatever happened to him.
 
OMG LOL Joan!!!!!

Yucko on the smell, good thing you figured it out! Last time mine did that, it was COATED with dust on the inside, it was a miracle any air was getting in at all. I just cleaned it out, and it was like a brand new computer!
