Okay... so...
since 1991 I have had only one consistent vacation every year. My Nerd Destination... San Diego Comic Con.

Since it was this week and I was originally due to have Phin on Aug 2nd... we decided we had to give up the dream and stay home this year.

BUT, for the love of all that is nerdy, I had Phin on JUNE 25th!!!!! YARGH!!
The day after they sold out of 4 day passes!!!!

I should be there on Wednesday night, I keep stalking the website looking at their panel schedule, something I normally schedule us down to bathroom breaks and my heart is literally BREAKING!!!

I mean, woot, I have a healthy kid and all...
BUT COMIC CON!!!!

i need help.
 
LOL well................I have no idea what Comic Con is, but I suppose I can understand-- since most people look at me funny with all my mark raving right? It's the same sort of thing (the utter confusion that is lol) :D ***Now La must google Comic Con and figure out what on earth this is about***
 
I've been wondering where you were...off mourning I see :( I had this happen to me too....Naomi was due the day that Trans siberian Orchestra came to town....and I had seen them four years in a row but I of course didn't buy tickets that year. Then she came a month early...these babies are unpredictable! (((hugs)))
 
My suggestion is to obssessively watch any and all Joss related materials you have in your home. That's just a starter, based on our previous Josselated conversation. Although that may just depress you further. Hmmm...this is a tough one! Good luck making it through...(and hey, extra Phin snuggling, to remind yourself that even though the stinker just had to be out early, at least he's doing well...and that's pretty cool.)

go to a card shop in town and ask for a book that has current individual prices, the book will vary depending on what cards you have. then go to walmart, by card sleeves for them and either sell them individually or by the set. depends on how much work you want for yourself. I'd personally do it by the set, that's how I unloaded a bunch of Yu-Gi-Oh cards recently.

Yeah, we were going to do that, it makes it harder, though. We're actually just renting a crapload of movies we've been meaning to catch up on since we can't go to theater anymore with 2 under 2... and doing that. We already caught up on this season's BSG, Doctor Who, and Torchwood, and I just read the whole Twilight series last week... and I've already caught up on Buffy Season 8 in comic book format, same with Firefly and Angel... =/

So... movie nights it shall be, and I'm going to watch YouTube for comic con leaks.

My heart actually hurts... tonight was the night I was supposed to be excited about... we would have been leaving for the con at like 4 in the morning tomorrow had we been going.

I told DH that I'm going to make Phin pay for this by forcing him to go to nerd fests until he graduates high school. heehee

Make a scrap page about how bummed you were that you can then show him, every year, forever and ever, so he knows exactly what you missed out on for him....:crying:
 
poo bryn!! i feel you. i won't be able to hit acl festival this year and the line-up is superb!! soooo sad! i'll be cryin that week too! come on...ingrid michaelson, old 97's, alison krauss, tegan and sara, gnarles, the fratellis, tristan prettyman, beck...the list goes on and on and on...

I'm like 600 miles away, all of the hotels are sold out and I'd have to get badges at the door with two babies under two, it would be so pointless at this point to try.
