Wow, I didn't know that! But if you're set up to only receive messages from friends and you take them off your list, shouldn't that make them unable to message you? Hmmmm. I wonder!
 
UGH! Yeah....I have to be permanently offline to one person especially. lol! Cause I didn't want to go through the hassle of having a new username, lol!
 
I use MSN and I block certain people instead of deleting them, and then I'm just never "online" in their world again. Unless, of course, I unblock them. Never used Yahoo. Does it have a similar feature?

Yes, I've done this in MSN as well LOL

But I don't know about Yahoo! I prefer MSN anyway.

so, in order to get a new name on for the messenger do you have to get a whole new e-mail address? Or has Yahoo messenger changed?? Back when I signed up (in 2002) you HAD to have a yahoo e-mail address and use that and that was your username.
 
At one time, there was also a site where you could go and "remove yourself" from their list! I'm not sure if it's still around on the internet but you could also see who had you on their list and then remove yourself from those lists that you didn't want to be on!
