Naps Are A Thing Of The Past...

Or so it seems. My kids haven't had a nap in the past week. They will go to their room and play and talk and do anything except nap. I know I'm lucky they've napped this long (they're 5.5 and just over 4).

I think once summer is over, and my son is in school full-time, I may get my daughter back on naps, lol. We'll see. They've been dwindling lately anyway, going from 3 hour naps (which she used to have just a few months ago) to 30 minutes in the last few weeks.

I've always looked forward to naptime as quiet time for ME, lol...I could scrap, design, read a book, watch TV...but it's all RUINED now...

that's a day of mourning for sure. do a layout about it!

oh wait, you can't.

kids are up.

(ok just kidding, i shouldn't be making light of your misfortune or else karma will get me and naomi will stop napping).

sorry hun!

Oh Lordy, mine is 2 and she's done. Ugh. :)

Yep, mine were both 2 when I had to stop naps cuz I noticed they wouldn't go to bed at night.

I've always envied moms who's kids would nap and still go to bed by 8:00. Sorry your kiddos are robbing you Bree.

Mine are little party animals. Most of the time when I get home from work my 22 month old stil hasn't gone down. My 5yo hasn't napped since she was 2, my 3yo is on-and-off.

Kristen stopped napping when she was 4 so I was hoping Kaylee would go that far but now I dunno. She stopped using her soothers (pacifiers) last week and since then it's been hard to get her to go to sleep. Just last night I heard a bump around 9, one hour past bedtime, and she had taken all her books and stuffed animals off the shelf and had taken a bunch of the stick-ups from the wall and let her blind roll all the way up to the top. Ugh!

I'm sorry your break is over! My 2 year old still naps, but I don't get a real break because my 4.5 year old stopped napping a year ago. He couldn't sleep at night, so we finally had to end the naps. I let my kids watch an afternoon video, which gives me a little computer time and gives my older DS a little rest. (The only time he's still enough to rest is in front of a video or in the car.)

I feel ya! At least Marley would take a short one, but lately she won't, and she's not 3 yet.

i can't remember the nap era, to be honest. my kids are all old. my baby is gonna be a full-time kindergartner next month. :(

Abby's 4 1/2 and I still make her nap on the weekends. It's for my sanity. LOL

I'm sorry Bree. I hope you get your daughter to nap again.

Nap time used to rock lol. Baby sleep = mummy sleep  but I have always been quite lucky with Lukas before nursery we never used to get up before midday lol and then he slept through the night as well. School was a big adjustment for him and it's only since he's been in his current class that he stopped falling asleep on the carpet :p. I'm not going to clue him in on the fact that because I am a raging insomniac I sleep while he's at school :p I am missing it thanks to the school holidays though. Hugs Crystal xx

oh man, you are fortunate to have gotten yours to nap for so long.

I'm sure you will find a way to adjust.

Oh no!! I dread this day!! I have a 4 year old and 2 year old and we still have naps luckily! I don't think I could function without them.....though some days they are defintiely not sleeping in there....but I make 'em stay! lol!

{{hugs}} sweetie! I hope you can find some different "me" time!

I hope mine naps till she's that age. She's 3 1/2 and still nape for 2 sometimes 3 hours nearly every afternoon (with the exception of 1)

That sucks hun, I think id go crazy without my time off in the afternoons.
