Ummm if that is then I guess me being happy that my husband and I got to go do laundry without any kids is too LOL That was our "date night" played gin rummy while we waited for the clothes to be done. It wasnt as lame as it sounds LOL

Nope, that's not sad at all. I've been excited the last 2 times when I didn't have to bring my girls. Taking Kaylee with me during the school year isn't a problem, but having both girls I'm sure would be disastrous. LOL

lol..

it's really necessary right now though..it is so HOT here and I'm so HUGELY pregnant and getting DS in and out of the carseat and then in and out of shopping carts just wears me out...so even though I'm having to drive him 15 miles out to my parents' house it's worth it. My mom would come here but she can't leave my grandmother alone.

I actually enjoy taking DD shopping with me, but then again im not hugely pregnant like you and its winter time. And she's really well behaved when we go out so im really lucky!

I can understand why your excited though, I get excited at the concept of time out too.

Are you kidding, not at all! I can't stand taking my boys shopping! Including my big boy DH! It takes twice as long and costs twice as much! LOL!

LOL Sarah! I do that by myself sometimes - not even with a friend! LOL!!!

No, Nik, it is definitely not wrong to be excited about going shopping kidless. I LOVE it when I can sneak out of the house and leave the boys home with DH so I can actually make a trip to the store and not buy half of it...

lol, once we were visiting my friend and her family. One night she and I went to the grocery store as our girls' night out. the idea of grocery shopping w/o kids was too enticing to pass up.

Nikki- don't you dare feel guilty about that! We've been hitting the grocery story as early as possible because while I'm home for summer, the errands are mine and it's SO HOT here! I'd LOVE to have mom watch them for quiet, leisurely grocery shopping. :)

Besides your DH is away on duty right now, so you're suddenly a single mom which is SO tough... you need some time to yourself, even if it is just for groceries!

not sad at ALL!! I love that mine are finally old enough that I can leave them with my 16 year old son and go to the store or wherever and HEAR myself think! It's sheer bliss! LOL

I LOOOOOVE to go shopping without my kiddos! hahaha!! I adore them but they are a handful when they are together and they whine "when are you going to be done" all the time! It's good to be excited about child-free moments :)

I have 3 kids and I get SUPER excited when I can go shopping by myself. Doesn't happen much though no DH or dad to watch them :(

Most of the time it's me, my 3 kids, my DBF and his 2 daughters going shopping, so yeah I get really excited with no kids or even just my 2 year old, she's really good to take shopping.

Is it even more lame that most weeks grocery shopping is the only ALONE time I get?? I love being a SAHM but boy we all need a break from time to time!!!! I would kill to have family around so we could just drop the boys off from time to time. We do have really AWESOME neighbors though so that helps, we dog sit when they are out of town and they babysit in return so that's a win/win for us!

PS. My boys are pretty good at the store when I do take them, they just take things out of my cart. So it is SOOO frustrating to get home and need what they took out! lil stinkers!

Girl... not sad in the least! I won't take mine to the commissary with me if I can help it. I'll wait 'til DH gets home to do the shopping so he can watch them. It's SO stressful trying to decide what you need and how much you want to spend when you've got 2 kids either fighting with each other or playing so rough with each other you just know they're going to get hurt and you'll have to run out of the store with them bleeding.

Have a nice, quiet time!

That's not sad at all! I'd love to go shopping kid-free, but I have to wait until work starts again, then I take off an hour early, do my shopping, then pick the kiddos up from daycare. That's the only way I can usually swing a solo shopping trip without going at like 10pm.

Enjoy it!

LMAO! DH & I have sometimes gone to walmart (we are 45 minutes from the nearest walmart) after dinner out without kids on a Friday night. One time I saw 2 moms wandering the aisles together but they had all these little kids too... I almost wanted to offer to babysit for them LOL.

I used to get excited when I got to take a SHOWER by myself! LOL!!! (Now that is a regular occurrence ... kidlets are bigger ... used to bring the baby with me and do double duty)

My two oldest kids went camping this past weekend with my parents. They were gone Friday night through late Sunday afternoon ... so what was I excited that I would get to do virtually without distraction? (except my 21 month old) .... DEEP CLEAN MY HOUSE!!! LOL! I rented a Rug Doctor to clean the carpets, and I washed windows ... deep cleaned the bathrooms ... and I was excited about it. Isn't THAT sad?? LOL!!

I'm very happy for you that you got to have some me-time ... even if it WAS to go grocery shopping. ;)
