Is anyone else a science junkie?

I live for the Discovery Channel (and it's not JUST cuz of Mythbuster Tory :p). And the science channel. And sometimes even the history channel when it's about engineering sorta stuff.

I also love gmail and it's little news article widget thingy at the top. Cuz it led me to this article.

Super dorky, but I love stuff like that. I'm fascinated with stars and the universe and planets and oceans and really, anything science related, lol.

I love the discovery channel........ and tory :D Ce and I are always going on the site and playing with the interactive stuff.. I intend on raising a science nerd :) LOL

We are also Discovery junkies here. We love Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, How Its Made, Deadliest Catch, Cash Cab, It Takes a Thief.... the list goes on. :)
DH is a big science geek as is raising our oldest son in the ways of the nerd. :)

We are a family of geeks and QUITE proud of the fact :) We love science and history and those channels plus animal planet and food network are our go-to stations to watch :)

My 11 year old son is OBSESSED with the History channel. We even found him in his room watching it this week in our beach house.

Discovery Channel is pretty much at the top of our ratings chart in the evening. Love all those shows. I throw in a little TLC and HGTV just to change it up a bit.

We were watching Mythbusters' shark week special last night and I just loved Kari's T-shirt that said GEEK with both Es being replaced with the Greek sigma.

Hmmm, maybe I feel some custom flair coming on....

i didn't think i was a science junkie until i realized that i love to watch all those shows on discovery channel... "i love the whole world..." that song runs through my head for DAYS. i LOVE it!

The History Channel and the Discovery channel are pretty much all I watch these days, except Dr Who and Eureka on SciFi. if your a science geek you'll like Eureka.

Dh loves to watch show about how the planets were formed and space travel. He'd have the Science channel on 24/7 I think. I prefer things like Engineering an Empire and all those shows about Egypt and mummies

See I love BOTH those types, lol. Me = super geek :p

Nope, no science for me.

Sorry, dude, but I just don't care how things are made. I trust that you know how to do your job, and I know how to do my job, and as long as the car/candy bar/heart monitor works properly, I am totally cool and blissful in my ignorance.

Geek confession: I was on the Chemistry team (just like the debate team) in high school. I thought I was gonna major in it but got sucked into the numbers world & tax codes. Proud to be a geek. LOL!!!

Science junky here too. :) But since it's my day job, I hardly ever watch Science-type shows on TV.....prefer to endulge in fantasy worlds instead. :)

Mythbusters - is there a "curriculum" for each episode?

well since you all started this thread... lol Can anyone tell me if they have seen a curriculum for EACH episode of Mythbusters?

I am homeschooling my boys and they asked me if there was such a thing. I think it would be fantastic! I looked on their home site and there is a link to a teacher's area...and a pdf file but it's "general"...would be a TON of work to make a curriculum (question answer hypothesis etc) for every 20 minute segment.

I'd love to find some of those shirts they were in the show too...but their store doesn't show them (plus I read some reviews that the Cafe Press t-shirts were low quality). ...so... if anyone knows of a site that sells science/geek shirts... please let me know...would be fun to get the boys a couple of shirts for Christmas that they could wear to their Science Club Meeting every month.

I just LOVED the Geeks Are Hot kit!! I'm having fun scrapping their Science Club Meetings...and I was NOT inspired to scrap them before the kit came out!

We don't watch Discovery channel, but only because we're too busy watching History Channel & Military Channel LOL! And not to forget Alton Brown & his Good Eats show on Food Network. We really need to add Discovery to our repetoire.

But, both dh & I are computer geeks. I'm a project manager in the IT department. DH was a software developer before he left that world to go back to get a Ph. D. in History. Our boys' favorite subjects are Math & Science.

Geeks rule...others Drool! :D
