Best Price/Quality on 12x12 prints

So, I'm going down to the OC next weekend and would like to take my friends' some of their layouts... I haven't finished their book yet (they gave me over 300 pics, pre-wedding parties & showers, wedding, and honeymoon), this was supposed to be a wedding present to them and now it's just past their 1st anniversary, so I was going to print up what I have and sleeve them and put them in a binder book from Michaels... and just bring them more layouts to add to it everytime we go down for a visit until their book is done. (Is that tacky? I have over 30 layouts right now)

I usually make all of my books on Shutterfly (but I've run out of patience with this project)...

so where do you get your 12x12's printed out? I need someplace really reasonable, and fast... but I want nice quality, too... is that too much to ask?

Scrapbookpictures.com is great! Fast and great prints. As far as price, mypictales was going to start selling them for $.75 a page! that's amazing! but, I have no clue what the quality is like!

Sorry, I don't print individually anymore. BUT MyPicTales is supposed to be starting their new site like any day now... $0.50 for 8x8 or 10x10 and $0.75 for 12x12.

Just wanted to say you were way too generous with your gift! LOL! What a good friend! That is so much work. Next time limit to 20 pages and don't let them send you 300 pics. lol That's what I would do.... ;)

I've gotten some 12x12 printed from Polka Dot Potato and I LOVE their quality! They ship super fast too and the prices for that level quality print is the lowest that I've seen so far.

I agree, Megan, but my dh was the Best Man at the wedding, so we wanted something really really special. (Not this special, though... ugh)

Has anyone gotten anything from MyPicTales? I've heard varying accounts on their quality over at MSA

Also, has anyone gotten them from Costco yet? I heard they might start doing 12x12 prints? Or was that my preggo brain?

Costco's prints are by far, the best quality I've seen, but 12x12 are $3 a page. 8x8 are $1.50... so youa re paying for the awesome prints. I love the lustre finish. They are really beautiful.

As for MPT's quality. Personally, I had problems with grainy photos and they print kind of dark.... BUT the paper is really nice and slightly glossy compared to the paper that Shutterfly use in their books. But you can't really beat $0.75 a page. I notice, but no one else noticed the grainy photos until I pointed it out to them. I'm sure your friends wouldn't notice either.

And NO, it was not my photos that were the problem like people kept suggesting. Here's a comparison photo of the EXACT same file printed at MPT, Costco, and Artscow (I compared books from Shutterfly, MPT, Artscow once I printed with them all).

I've used Mpix and Whcc for 12x12 prints when I first started digital. They're amazing quality, but not that cheap.

I have 10 12x12 shutterfly books and love those too. I only switched to 8x8 because it was getting too expensive.

Oh, I love my shutterfly books, but there's a list of reasons why this book isn't going to make it to hardcover in the original thread... it's just taking too long to finish. I bit off more than I could chew.

you ciould always do some of them in quick pages too...and keep some of your files that you have already done to make new pages and just change some small details on them so they look different to finish a few more pages

Thanks for starting this thread. As someone who is just coming from paper scrapping, I'm trying to figure out the most economical, yet high-quality, way to print also. I bought the Epson 12x12 paper meant for layouts and printed a few myself and I'm happy with the quality. I just don't know how much that is costing me since I don't know how to figure the cost of ink. The paper is about $1.50 a sheet.

And really, I can't make a paper layout for $3, so that price doesn't sound too bad from Costco if the quality is great - I may have to try that and save the wear and tear on my own printer.

I LOVE COSTCO!!! $3 a page though... And I think you still have to get a 12x18 and put a solid border on the side of your LO so they don't stretch it to fit.

I was wondering the same. I'm at my parents house this weekend but have some stuff I want to get printed up. They DO have a costco membership (I don't because the one near me is actually quite far from me).

I was printing at home and have TONS of matte photo paper, but the quality has been a bit off lately. The color didn;t seem sharp. I'll probably replace the ink and try again, but think I may go "commercial" more often.
