Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. DS2 was in and out of surgery in about 20 minutes. DH & I barely had a chance to get a sandwich from the cafeteria. 
DS2 ate 3 popsicles & drank 3 large glasses of icy juice in about 2 hours and they let us leave a little early. He's doing fine. He's crabby & low energy, laying on the sofa now. I think the hardest part of the next few days is going to be for DS1 who just cannot believe DS2 does not want to wrestle and run around with him.
