Heeeelp me...

lauren grier

you're like stars
well more specifically.. help Ce, as I'm about to ship him off...

2 days... of sweeping. .vaccuuming.. and mopping..

and I Can NOT get the 50lbs of #$%@#%@#%@#^@#$^@# glitter off of my floors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there some like secret magic mom trick I Don't know about. OMG I am going loony. The cat, Ce and I are also covered-- he has like a layer on h is scalp despite several shampoo'ings.. What the crap!?!?! LOL (it doesn't help matters that he thinks it's funny to dump glitter on my floor now that he sees how frustrated I am.. little bum!)

At least things are all sparkly :p just the wrong kind of sparkly :p

btw.. this isn't in like.. one little area.. my *entire* living room, kitchen, and bath are covered at this point. How, I do not know.. bu that stuff travels :D

omg.

i feel bad for laughing. but laugh i did.

umm. gosh. have NO idea how to clean all that up.

what are you doing with so much glitter anyway?

good luck.

LMBO-I agree with Lizzy...get rid of the glitter...hehe.
I have no idea to tell you how...I know that diamond dust used to be the same for us...Zak would come home covered in it and his shoes full of it...I took me forever to get that nasty stuff up.

LOL.. ce is in love with those lil "Crafty packs" .. you know they come with glue.. popsicle sticks.. feathers.. beads.. poms.. gliiiiiiiiiitter .. other annoying little crappers. He apparently has been stock piling the glitter and I didnt' realize.. waiting.. and waiting... to torture me to extreme levels.

This is what I ended up doing. The glitter is so damn light the vacuum was blowing as much around as it was sucking up so I took a spray bottle and briefly sprayed the glittered surfaces, counted as much of 1 to 100 as I could remember in my frustration and then vacuumed up the damp glitter. Not all of it vacuumed but being damp, it was fairly easy to wipe up with a paper towel.

Poor La! Even working at a daycare for 8 years, I have no secret for clean up. We usually wore it for a couple of days. :( And never ever got it all up off the floor.

I usually mop it but since you've tried that already - I'm clean out of ideas besides what the others have said - don't use it! LOL

oooh, La....

I say give Ce big giant pieces of tape (or those lint rollers for clothes) to try to pick up as much as you can! On vinyl or hard flooring that might pick a lot up, and on carpeting, I would think it might pull up at least some of the stuff that's closer to the surface...I don't know that it'll solve the problem, but, it might help a bit, right?

Our custodian HATES every time we pull out glitter in the classroom...and I think it's pretty much a requirement of kindergarten....I don't know any good secrets to get it up, other than the above, which I just thought of...

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Yeah, glitter is pretty much banned from our house -- one of the reasons I gave up paper scrapbooking, in fact!

That's actually a really good idea, the lint roller thing. I have a few in the drawer (since you know.. I am also blessed with cat fur issues :D :D ). When he's done eating his snack I am SO making him do that.

I am such a mean momma. No Glitter, Playdoh, Moon Sand, water guns, Silly Putty, tattoos or anything little with many pieces or anything thing gooey is allowed in my house. Give my guy tape and a toilet roll and he is happy.

Have you tried a swiffer? It picks up the black toner from our copier like a gem.

Good luck

I don't have moon sand for this exact reason. It ended up covering my entire house not long after we got it for her. Now it is banned and cannot come within 50 feet of my front porch.

I was going to suggest some duct tape. Not to tie Ce up (althought at this point it must be tempting) LOL. Just hand it to him and tell him to stick it on all the glitter and then rip it up. Might work, might be fun for him. Also might destroy something so be careful

LOL @ the duct tape.. yeh we had moonsand once, and while it IS annoying.. at least it is easily vaccuumed up. Glitter is now at the top of the mommy most hated list.

I would say a swiffer or the lint roller. This is why I do not give my daughter glitter. I'm a horrible mother. LOL
