Make me stop!

Make me stop being such a frickin' freakin' frackin' FONT FREAK!!! :cursing:

I just went to quickly search for a couple fonts and a dingbat to use on the layout I'm working on and EVERY. FRICKIN'. TIME. I swear I'm going to do that QUICKLY and get out with just what I need. But, without fail, I'm always opening the biggest can of worms and can't escape the font sites without downloading a bazillion other fonts! I try to leave! I really really do!! But there's always "oh, I'll just look at one more page and then I'll leave..."

Okay, I don't reeeally want to stop ;) but anyone else care to form
FRICKIN' FREAKIN' FRACKIN' FONT FREAKS ANONYMOUS with me? :D :D :D

LOL, I'm not so bad anymore, but I used to have somewhere around 8,000. My computer crashed and you'd be amazed at how little you want to d/l when that happens. :)

LOL - too funny! It sure slowed me down on installing stuff!
Well, I must admit, I don't think I've ever come close to 8000 fonts! :D I'm more in Jessica's range of 1500+.

I do have a much better sense of my style and what's worth me DLing these days (which still equates to "a whole freakin' lot!" lol). I also actually keep them someplace somewhat logical, back them up, and started using Linotype FontExplorer a while back. My next goal is to actually use FontExplorer more efficiently and implement a good system of organization through it. Then I can quickly install and uninstall fonts as needed for my projects. I try really hard to not have too many installed for PS, but it's a hard habit to kick. ;) Hopefully the organization helps a whole bunch with that.

Bottom line, though, is I'll always love fonts and my style is very eclectic, so I think I'm always going to linger anytime I get anywhere near a font site! :D

I'll join with you Joan!!! I have an addiction ...

And seriously, computer crashing sucks!! I have had it happen so many times that I, uh, have a DVD of just font files and stuff like that, so when it happens again, I am good to go. lmao.

Fonts make me crazy. I'm so there with you! I used to do a lot of ads, posters, brochures, etc. freelance and I would be in fontland FOREVER...now I hardly use fonts on my layouts at all, it's better to not even go there, because it's a giant bermuda triangle with me, and all of a sudden three hours later I havn't done ANYTHING but view a million and a half fonts!
