Need Ideas

I am writing stories and making them into little hybrid Christmas gifts for 3 of my nieces and my son. I have the general idea of what their stories will be, but my one niece is a princess and I can't think of an idea of how to write her a princess story and not make her a damsel in distress thing. Any ideas?

If you are curious or have extra ideas, the others are the 3 is baking a cake with family members, the 4 year old is going on a pirate adventure and my son (2) is a knight.

What if she is searching for something to use to help someone else instead of being the one needing help? Like Dora, where she's always trying to save someone else? That way she is the hero of the story instead of the damsel in distress. :)

What a cute idea, BTW! They're going to love them!

Oh I love that idea and may just steal it! Have you read the paper bag princess by Robert Munsch? His princess saves the prince. I often tell my girls bedtime stories where they are princesses and then we weave in daily events and talk about good choices to make...hope that helps.

Yes, I was going to suggest the princess be the hero (heroine) in the story! It's such a cute idea, hope you'll post pics of them when you are done!
