High School Reunion Time?!?!

Oh the horror!!!!!

I have my 10 year high school reunion on Saturday. That means I get to fly back to good ole' Springfield, Misery to see a grip of people I could care less about (while I have a zit growing on my face!). Good news is I will get to see a couple of really good friends (who'll ditch the reunion with me, if its lame) and my 2 lil nieces (one of which was just born on Monday). So it should be fun.

P.S. I do have a smokin' outfit to wear that will disguise most of my chubby so thats good news!! LOL!! Wish me luck and I'll miss all the hottness that is SSD.

Have fun Lizzy!! My 10 year was last year and I did NOT want to go!! My girls made me and I ended up having a wonderful time!! Even with all the yucky snobs I went to school with and had no desire to see, I had a good time!! I hope you end up having a blast girlie!! I'm sure you'll look awesome in your new outfit too!!

I don't remember the last time I was in Springfield, MO, but that's only a couple of hours from St. Louis right? I'm about 35 minutes outside St. Louis on the Illinois side.
 
I doubt I would fly home for a reunion--but now I'm only an hour away so it's kind of tempting. Only because I was such a nerd in high school, I almost want to show off my hubby (and kids) and that I'm not such a nerd. I probably have a much better life than most of the "popular" students.

Oh, but I meant to say have fun. :) hopefully it won't be too bad!
 
I hope it turns out better than you're expecting, or at least have fun ditching!! lol, No way I'm going to mine, my 10 yr is this year too.
 
Ohhh Lizzy...If I didn't have to work this weekend I would drive the 6 or so hours to see you...DANG it...If it would have been next weekend...I would be sooo there, crashing the reunion.
 
I hope you have fun Lizzy! Mine was last year but I did not go. I was REALLY pregnant and I did not want to leave everyone with that image of me until the 20 year reunion LOL!

Have fun!!! I didn't go to my 10th or 20th. My parents moved the middle of my senior year and I graduated with 660 strangers. LOL!!
 
Oooh my 10 year is a week after this saturday... I'm actually excited to meet up with some of my long lost friends but a bit nervous about it too.

Why pay $50 for gas and $25 to go to the party when I can gape at people's appearances and snicker behind their backs for free on FB?! :p

Lizzy - have a blast! You always run into more someones you wonder why you didn't keep in touch with, than those you are reminded of why you never did!

and BTW - did you get married right after you graduated?

I have my 10 year reunion in November.. I only moved 15 minutes away, so I will probably go. Not too keen on the idea though! hahahaha I was friends with a lot of people, but I didnt actually like them very much :D :D :D :D
 
Have a great time at your reunion sweety!! I have been out of highschool for about 7 years now, crazyness time is flying. I doubt my school will ever have a renuion for my class though LOL They dont want us coming back!
 
I skipped my 10 year and my 20 year. They were just too inconvenient to attend. I had a blast at my 5 year though! :)

My 25 year is in 2 years. Assuming they don't move it to Thanksgiving weekend again this time, I'd like to go to it.
 
They didn't have a 10 year for us, and I'm glad, I was prego at the time with 2 kids already, and I just didn't feel like I would have wanted to.

have a GREAT time...my 20 year is the 1st weekend in Sept...but too much money for me to fly home just for a couple of days~
 
i'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

lemme start off by telling you all that i was stuck at the dallas airport for 8 hours!!!! ahhhhhh!!! first weather problems, then mechanical, then a plane downsize. IT TWAS A NIGHTMARE.

k...so i finally made it to springpatch and went to the Friday night meet and greet. pretty fun, but lemme just tell you. EVERY WOMAN WAS HOT! all of them (80% had kids) were hotter than they were in H.S. i really think i was the only chubby one. WTH?!?!?! i was banking on at least one or two looking like crap! nope...didn't happen. :blink: i was the girl who was literally friends with EVERYONE so i got lots of hugs and lots of "you look the exact same" and "OMG, LIZ FANNING!!!" it ended up being pretty fun, actually! saturday night was the actual reunion and it too was pretty nice. anywho...it just made me realize how unimportant that segment in time was. i mean my kids...my wonderful hubby...my best friends...my entire family...thats what matters.

i also got to smell, kiss and cuddle my new niece so it ended up all being worth it! :wub:
