So... please don't take this the wrong way! I'm a HUGE HP nerd, but when I was reading the books, since they never described her (and I challenge someone to please find a passage where they do...) I always pictured Lavender Brown as a black girl. (I'm not sure of the correct term to use as African-American implies she's American, and she's... well... British).

Secondly! Alert!! They have pushed back the release date from November to July 17th!!!

I think that I had thought of her the same way...oh Lavendar Brown...I love how jealous Hermione becomes...lol, and yeah, waiting until next summer sizzucks.
 
What? We have to wait another YEAR? Ugh!

I never thought of Lavender as black, I always pictured her as a white girl kinda gangly like Draco.
 
I am so beyond ticked they pushed it back ... it was supposed to be my birthday present from the kids - a night out at the movies together as a family, since my bday is Nov 19th.

And I never pictured Lavendar, really. lol
 
First, I canNOT believe they pushed it back! Ugh, what are they doing to us?!?!?

Second, huh, I guess I never really pictured her. lol I know when the showed the twins I had never pictured them as Indian. THere was someone else that looked nothing like I pictured him in the movie, but I forget his name. He was one of the adults in the Order of the Phoenix.
 
I had no idea it was to've been released in November. it would've made us a great 30th anniversary gift (nov.18). But till July! That's another freakin' 8 months!
I'm kinda with Paula on how I saw Lavender Brown. But I'm always surprised to see how all the characters actually look on screen as compared to how I imagined them.
 
My DH just told me about the date....:crying:

as to why? The studio says they want it to be a huge summer release, a la the new Batman...so, apparently, making all of us WAIT for a movie that is DONE is just good business sense.

As my DH also pointed out, this will ALSO mean that the final movie will be a summer release, so they're thinking they'll get two HUGE summer blockbusters out of the deal.

I say poo on them, I want my Harry Potter!!!!
 
I'm not a HP fan at all (sorry lol) but I'm thinking they didn't want to compete with the Twilight movie that was originally coming out shortly after :p
 
Aww...that sucks! I just saw the trailer again today and it said November...I was all excited because I thought it came out in December. Oh well, Twilight will be out in December so that'll keep my obsessions occupied for a bit. LOL

I'm not sure what I pictured Lavendar like...
 
I had her pictured as Brittish but with dark brown long hair. Isn't it funny how everyone has a different picture in their heads when they read a book?

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bummed about them pushing the date back...course that is right before son's 14th birthday...so guess we will be having a DRIVE-IN MOVIE birthday party!!
 
I'm not sure that I had a picture of Lavendar in my head. It's been a while since I read the books though . . .

And I HATE that they pushed the opening back. :(
 
I want to cry about the pushback. Must be a production issue because that's a looooooong time after the original release date. Sigh.
 
If it means a better quality movie then I'm okay with the push back on the date. The last few have been okay, I mean I like them and all , they just leave out SO MUCH ya know? and it means DH will be home and can go with me :)
 
Well, there are three movies left, HBP and they split DH in half, so the last book gets two movies. They won't be released back to back, though, they already stated that. So I'm figuring Summer '09, Christmas '09, Summer '10.

bah... and I had my Harry flying in from Texas for the midnight showing. =(
