I am so excited that I can make my blog into a book... it really did just "slurp" it up into the software and now I"m working on the LO. Have any of you used Blurb to make a book from your blog?

I'm just wondering if I should manually upload my full size LOs into the software and use those since my blog has the web size versions. I ahve already replaced the photos that it gives me resolution warnings for.. but should I just do it for all of them? Some of the photos are pretty small on the page.

I had a friend do it and she loved the book. I checked out their site and I am going to be doing cookbooks of my mom's recipes and grandmother's recipes for Christmas gifts this year and I can't wait to see them!! I think their prices are very reasonable too. My friend said she got her book from her blog really quick too.

Did I ever tell you i did one Megan?

I don't have any layouts in mine though, just pictures because it's from my family blog. I absolutely LOVE it, but it is not great quality to me. So I don't really know what to tell you about your layouts. If they look okay to you in your gallery or blog, they might be fine. But, I also only have small pictures in my book. I have one picture that takes up an entire page, but it looks like the rest. Very "dotty". But oh so so so worth it. It was exactly what I wanted. I basically have my personal family history in a book and I LOVE it!

So, I'm no help with your question. :)

I used blurb for a layout book. I didn't like the resolution quality of the photos it pulled from my blog, so I replaced them with the actual photos as I went through it. I just uploaded the layouts into the software & dragged & dropped them onto the pages. It really took very little time. I was pleased with the outcome. I'm currently putting together a book of my Project 365 photos for this year and another one of my layouts.

I'm hoping to get $$ for Christmas to pay for them. :)

I also did a blurb book for my family blog. My pictures were a bit spotty, and I don't know why, since I went and uploaded all the full size photos into the software. I'm not sure how layouts would print. I had layouts for the front and back covers, and those printed beautifully!

Also, my book was 350 pages, and in the middle, the pages were very stretched and were halfway out of the binding. I emailed them right away and had to show them pictures of the binding quality. They sent me a shipping label and reprinted and reshipped it for free. Their customer service was excellent.

Enjoy your book! People are always so impressed when they see mine. Blog books are so cool when they are printed.

Thanks, ladies! I think I will just go ahead and load in my full size just to make sure... but I'm not that concerned about the photos and LOs since it's really more about having my family blog printed so I at least have a journal of some sort. The pics are small, so this certainly isn't replacing photobooks for printing my LOs.
