Stupid news....

Okay, this is a spin-off of Manda's thread about bigfoot... it got me thinking of other stupid news I've heard in my lifetime! I would love to hear & have a good laugh at news reports you've found ridiculous too!

Here's mine:
Dh reads the CNN website to watch the news, and he regularily goes into the science section. One day he called me over to read over this report, which was titled with "Breakthrough Research" (I should have known by the way he was smirking that it was going to be ridiculous).

Anyways, a team of 10 scientists had proven after MUCH study & a huge budget that "some women experience some pain while menstruating, and its real". OMG! It took 10 of them to figure that out???? I'm sure that the team was ALL men!

OMGosh! How idiotic! I think most women could have TOLD them that! LOL

If only they could all live a day in our shoes....lol

How about this one...a 12 year old sued her father because he wouldn't let her go on the school trip because she disobeyed him, and she WON! :blink:

Here's one... the news itself isn't stupid, but the reporter is! DId you know penguins are mammals? lol My brother took a screenshot and they've since corrected it to "birds"

OMG! these are hilarious.....and so frustrating at the same time! LOL!

I can't think of one at the moment, but when I do, I will be back!

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. Some children feel entitled to get whatever they want. How about children who are abused and neglected? Who cares that you didn't get to go on field trip? Brat. How are parents supposed to discipline their children if they end up fearing getting sued over it?!?!? :cursing:

It's also ridiculous that people think they can sue fast food restaurants for "making" them overweight. Take responsibility for you own actions, people! Get some self control!

LOL, me too Lizzy! I hate the news, its all so lame. Seriously, CNN has the STUPIDIST science news. I can't believe all the money being wasted on lame research. Seriously, they could have asked 1 woman if the pain was there, and if it was real, they could have saved some major $$!!

Good thing they researched that... I had noooo idea what I was feeling when I was laying on the couch, with a bottle of Tylenol 1 & Advil... Funny too that it even HAD to be researched... do they think that part of our "sex talk" from our mothers was about how we should moan & groan & fake pain once a month? Sorry... I have better things to do than that!!!

honestly. save yourself the time and $$ and go feed some starving children in a russian orphange. i'm over the idiots!!! LOL! that penguin article was hilarious too!!!
