Blogger question!

Okay, bloggers! Does anyone use the stretch templates? I like that it fills the screen more, but was wondering if it looks the same on someone else's screen who doesn't have a widescreen monitor? Do they have to scroll side-to-side to view everything that way?

If you have a stretch template blog, could you link me up, please? I'm trying to revamp my blog and I'm trying to figure out how I want to do things. Thanks!

ETA: Does anyone know of a template that is between Minima and Minima Stretch? Minima is too narrow.

I just clicked on your blog and found the tut for shadowing strings. Can I just say you rock! I can't wait to try it out. Thank you so much for sharing! Sorry I can't help with your question but I just had to tell you how much I appreciate the tutorial!

Oh thanks! Glad you found it helpful! Do you use PSE? If you have CS2/CS3 it is easier to make your own shadow layer... you don't have to do the first couple steps... but I use PSE so that's how I have to do it. And sorry about the boring red banner. I'm trying to figure out the width of the banner and I couldn't find it in the html coding. lol :)

I also don't have any idea about your question, but found your shadow tut sooooo helpful! I saved it in my favorites...thanks! (Using CS3, so guessing I can skip a step or two...will have to play with it!)

Thank you!

well, now I am going to go take a look! :) i want some fun tuts!

I have never used a stretch template, but when I do "normal" templates for people, I have to make sure that everything fits within a standard screen range or it isn't visible. I am *guessing* that you would have to scroll if you don't have a widescreen monitor. I don't know that I know anyone who doesn't have a widescreen monitor anymore, but if you have someone you are concerned about not being able to see your blog, you could just call them and have them test it for you! :)

eta: I have an old square monitor sitting on my floor. If you want me to test it for you, send me a PM with a link to your blog and I'll hook it up and look. Didn't even think of it before because I never use it! :)

eta again: Not the link to your blog, because I have been there browing your tuts! But let me know when you have the stretch template up and I'll check it for you.

Yeah, with CS3 you should be able to apply your normal shadow style and then seperate the shadow from the element adn put it on its own layer. Not sure how though. I think someone once said that you can right clikc on it and there's an option for it, but I have no clue since I don't have it! ;)

hmmm you can probably adjust the widths in the html section, but it might take a bit of playing around.

My desktop is not widescreen and I don't have to scroll side to side.

Yeah, I'm trying, but I really have no idea what I'm doing with the html... lol! I'm able to tweak little stuff but I have NO CLUE how to adjust the width of the header AND the body of the blog. Totally clueless. lol

do you use Firefox? I use the MeasureIt add-on to measure stuff on-screen. Not sure if that would help you . . .

Awesome Tut!! Yeah in CS3 you can right click and there is an option to create layer. Just hit that and you can mess with your shadow! HTH!

I'm not one for HTML either so I am no help!

Okay, I checked out your page source and I don't even see widths with that format! So you might need to try with the minima template and make it bigger instead of making the stretch one smaller.

Thanks, Sarah! That was much easier to play with... now do you know how I might scoot my sidebar over so it's not so close to my posts?
