With so many of our kids starting school or already back...let's talk lunches.
What is your child's favorite lunches? What do you put in there for snacks? How about drinks?
Is there something that you'd like to try giving them this year?
Last year, Mason was in full-day kindergarten so he got a "healthy snack" at around 11am, then lunch, and then a snack in the afternoon. His favorite packed lunch included: cup of peaches, ham & cheese wrap, granola bar and white milk.
Today I wasn't sure how much to send...he's eating faster now than he was then, so I think he can have more during that small window of time they give them to eat before going outside...I sent him Stackers (it was quick, lol...I forgot to get lunch meat yesterday), a juicebox, a granola bar and a cup of peaches.
But I received an email today with lunch ideas, and found this one - I know Mason would love it, so I think I may send it tomorrow (he's asked to take salad to school for lunch last year): http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/recipes/mini-chef-shake-up-110454.aspx
There's all sorts of great ideas on there, I may print off a few or save them somehow, to do something different. We're going to get in a rut otherwise (last year we rotated between ham sandwiches, ham wraps, ham Stackers, and I think we threw in a salad or soup once in a while).
Oh, and they've got some really cute jokes to put in their lunch boxes...such a fun idea, too! http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/YourKids/LunchboxSolutions/LunchboxJokes.aspx
