Just a question for fun. Wondering since we've touched on this a few times in topics but not completely.

Do you consider yourself a "kit scrapper" or a "mix it up kinda gal/guy" - most of the time that is . . .

I said Kit scrapper cause I like using huge kits that have everything I need. sometimes I like to toss in a few extras but having to dig around and use umpteen different products takes so much time.

I voted for "mix-it-up" but up until recently I have been almost 100% a kit scrapper. But once I learned how to mix and match, I have a hard time sticking to just one kit, lol!

good question!

As much as I want to, I just don't mix & match. I do have my standby element packs that I use with other kits, but in the end, I am mostly a kit scrapper.

Mostly kit, although I have a few element and paper packs that I pull from consistently when I need that something something.

I'm a mix-it-up gal. I did a LO last night almost completely from just one kit and that was definitely against my norm. LOL Sometimes I'll do pages with all one kit if it's a brand new kit but mostly I hunt to find things that coordinate.

Generally a mix it up girl here - but I have gotten better at sticking to a kit when Im time challenged and am just as happy with the end result! I dont know why but I still seem to like mixing up my alpha's though!

This is tough for me to answer because I'm mostly a kit scrapper, but lately I'm very into simple light or dark BGs, so if the kit doesn't have one of those, I almost always pull one from somewhere else. I don't think that really qualifies me as a mix-it-up scrapper. I'm more of a "kit scrapper, unless I really need something from somewhere else" kit.

You know what I think, lol...as to why we are kit/mix-it-up scrappers. CT's. I started digi scrapping and CT'ing when you were required to use ONLY the kit you were given. If you HAD to have something that wasn't in the kit, you could pull from other kits by the same designer, but it was encouraged to only do so if it was absolutely necessary.

Things have changed. Designers require anywhere from 75-90% their products, because they realize that they realistically can't give their CT's everything they need in one kit - and sometimes some other designers can create something that another can't (for example - tears/folds/overlays, etc). So there is a bit more flexibility in choosing what you'd like to use on your layouts for your CT's (depending on who you CT for). Site CT's are even better because many allow you to use anything from the store, mix it up, you don't have to go 100% any one designer (again, dependant on WHO you CT for, lol).

Now that I'm not on any active CT's, I feel total freedom to do what I want, lol. I love it! I'm back to scrapping for myself - and it allows me to use anything that speaks to me and my layout...instead of scrapping a layout with the designer in mind.

This is me too - I really should use my ACDSee to its full potential, I'm sure I'd be able to do it more but boy it just seems like a TON of work to sort and organize everything for EVERY kit!

Typically, I am a kit scrapper. I do want to be a mix-it-up kind of scrapper though :)

I put kit scrapper, but it depends. A few of my CT's require you to use pretty much just that one kit if it's a new release, so I do that for them. Another of my CT's always tells me to mix it up so as to showcase how her designs all flow together, lol!

It really just depends though! I think it's fun to mix it up at least sometimes though. :)

I get LOs done faster when I stay within a kit. I also feel like it pushes my creativity a bit to use what's included. :)

Typically I scrap from a kit. But I've been trying to broaden my horizons so to speak...and I really am starting to LOVE the look of mixing up my kits.

PS: Bree said everything perfectly! LOL!

I HATE when a CT will not let you use anything outside of that kit. It is so frustrating and just way too limiting (Unless they LOAD the kit down with stuff). I am fortunate to not have any CT's that I find frustrating, so it's all good! :)

I'm such a kit scrapper. Sometimes I can pull stuff from here or there but it's sooooooooooo hard for me to do. This is why I don't like it when things don't come with an alpha. LOL

Ya the only things that I will normally use that's not in the kit are overlays, alphas, photo and paper templates - things like that, just to add a little something "extra" to my page. But all else, I rarelly mix it up.

This is pretty much me. I occasionally pull things from other kits, but mostly I stick with the kit and add an alpha or tear or use a shape template.

I voted kit scrapper, because that's really what I am, and have a hard time finding other elements and such that will work. Recently I've been trying to mix it up more and more, and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Sometimes that's what you need to do to get that certain 'look' to the lo. I do love getting a kit, however, that when you open it up, everything you need is right there! LOL, so I don't have to go hunting for flowers, stitches, string, or whatever! Love those kinds of kits!

I use to really really be a KIT scrapper, I would pull maybe a staple or stitching from "here or there" but that was about it.

But since I got ACDSee and started tagging my things I find myself pulling EVERYTHING from "here and there"....especially when I do a SAL or scraplift challenge.

So even though I still love to KIT scrap....I'm getting alot better at mixin' and matchin'!!!!

Absolutely a mix-it-up scrapper. Like I indicated in another thread, as soon as I download the kit, it gets pulled apart into pieces and put in paper/element/alpha folders. That said...if I have a reason to scrap with a kit, like as a favor or to promote it, then I do that.
