<really ridiculous thing to be mad about>

but I Can't help it.. LOL.

So one of ce's fish is sick-- really sick. He's been fighting for about a week now, I could have sworn he was going to die the first day LOL, but he didn't. I've been giving him (and his tank buddies) fishie antibiotics, but I don't really know how much he's actually getting. He doesn't seem to be getting better, but I'm supposed to give it to them for 5-10 days so who knows.

Anyway.. so I get mad when I know he's not eating it, because I am trying to help the stupid fish.. BUT, I get even more mad.. when one of the other fishies keeps attacking him!! I keep trying to take him out of the tank but ce of course is freaking out about it. He wants me to keep him in there with his "friends", and starts like crying and crap thinking I'm going to flush him. So he stays.. and gets sicker.. and beat up. I think it's because he was the "alpha" fish.. and now the other one is trying to become that one. But good lord.......... I just went and checked on him.. and someone (evil mean smaller fish) left a BITE on his side. WTH.

mean mean fishies! I really don't know how he's going to survive all of this

La, can't you take him out again and put one of his less aggressive fish pals in with him to keep him company? It might take the stress off him at least. Must be a tough little bugger to've lasted this long, but it sounds like they could send him off sooner by being so, well, fish like in the survival of the fittest thing.

I'm actually afraid to move him.. because I dunno if he can take any more stress LOL.. poor lil guy

That does stink! Brooke's suggestion is a good one.

can you maybe put a divider into the tank to separate him from the one that is attacking him?

Ohhh that poor little fishie I would try taking him out, I'm sure he's super stressed about that BAD fish friend of his.

well I took him out... and he's on his side now.. I don't think he's going to last much longer but I Couldn't watch him like that anymore. He's in a lil tank right next to the big tank.. at least he can die in peace now (Well if you pretend ce isn't there with his face right up next to his tank yelling at him )

Okay, La, I asked my DH and he has a bunch of fish in this enormous tank. The sickie fish isn't a good thing to keep with the other fish. With a bite out of him, well, that is a big invitation to basically eat him alive. That is worse than him just dying. You need to quarentine the fish. Do you have another tank or a divider? What kind of fish is it and how large? Sending little fishie get well wishes.

Oops, took to long to post and saw your update. You should continue to give the big tank the antibiotics because they might have the same yucky thing the sad fish has. ((sorry Ce))

thx hun.. I am. One of them had started getting sick too-- right before I started on the meds, so I'm going to continue- it's a good precautionary measure anyway. .. poor fishie.
