My son has a beard and I can't decide if it's cute

It's so weird when your son stops shaving! I am torn on this and thought I'd show you all to hear your opinions. He is 16 and a junior in high school. None of his friends have facial hair, or if they do it's pretty scarce. Do you all think it's cute and suits him? And would you let a guy with a beard date your 16 year old daughter???

I think it looks good on him too, but I suppose if it were my son, I'd think it was a little weird! LOL. And I don't think I'd let ANYone date my 16 yr old daughters... *sigh* wishful thinking.

oh it's cute....and i wouldn't have a problem with it....granted i'd have to have a 16 year old daughter first lol. but Jeff had facial hair by like 8th/9th grade lol

His having facial hair would not discourage me from letting him date my daughter (if she were 16)...as long as he was a good kid.
I don't think it looks bad at all!

I think he looks cute Julie...There are a few boys in our HS who have a beard and I'm under the impression that they have it because they CAN...KWIM?
Maybe he will get sick of soon, and decide he doesn't like it...I think its a battle I wouldn't choose to fight...
I'm all for guys with hair on their faces...LMBO...My hubby gets in huge trouble from me if he shaves all his facial hair.

If a side effect is that no on want their daughters to date him, would that be bad?...I'm happy my Zak doesn't have a girlfriend...hehe.

I'm very lucky that Jacob is an awesome kid. So nice, polite, funny, and SMART smart smart. Take a good look at him, because he has an incredible future ahead of him. :) I'm surprised the girls aren't beating down our doors for him... but thankful they aren't! I want to be the only woman in his life for a while more. LOL

He's so cute, I definitely think it suits him. As long as he is a good kid, I wouldn't discourage my daughters from dating him. I bet it is strange to have a SON with a beard...I'm concerned about this with Benjamin, because DH is so hairy LOL

I think it's cute! But I'm biased - it when dh has a goatee.

I'm trying to imagine ds six years older with facial hair and I cannot do it!

I think that is exactly why Jacob likes it. It makes him stand out right now. LOL In fact his football coaches now call him Grizzly :D and he loves that.

No, I do rather agree!

I think it looks cute on him... I work with a lot of high school/college-aged volunteers, and it seems like a "thing" for guys that age to like a little scruff. If I had a daughter, and if she were old enough to date, I wouldn't give a second thought to a guy with a beard if he were a good kid.

The fact that he keeps it so neat would actually be a pro in my book, at least he takes care of his appearance... you kwim??

I like it on him!

I think it looks very nice. I would not stop my daughter from dating a boy who had facial hair because I have two sons and would not want someone to do that to them plus my husband has had either a beard and mustache or a goatee with mustache or just a mustache since we have been together so I am so used to it I think it is weird when men dont have any facial hair.

I think it looks cute on him and he does still look young. If we ever let our girls out of the house to date, facial hair wouldn't matter. However I doubt there dad will let them out until they get married. LOL Don't ask me how that's suppose to happen! ROTFL!

This may be taken the wrong way, but *I* would date him :p Seriously though, he's a cutie and the facial hair doesn't make him look dangerous or scary. Seriously, the girls aren't beating the door down? What's wrong with them? :p

I was trying to imagine my 2 boys in their teens with facial hair, and could not do it, lol! I would probably feel weird about it, too. But, hey men have facial hair and what can we do? :p As long as it's well trimmed and groomed then that's fine, but if it's growing all wild than that would definitely be an issue! LOL...

Totally agree with everyone else....it suits him.
And what a cute photo......they look like they have a great relationship.......don't you miss scrapping?!??!;)

There was a boy at my son's school who had a full beard by 6th grade. Since it's a private school they made him shave it but it would be back by the time school let out.

I think he looks cute tho. I will say I think he looks older than 16 just by looking at this pic. I would let him keep it. He may only keep it for a few days as most guys I know say their face starts itching after a few days. :p

I think it looks great on him.

But I agree, it's super freaky to watch your son turn into a man. My oldest is 5'10" and I'm 5'6". Wth how can my kid be taller than me. LOL

I totally agree that he's a cutie!!!! Stella won't be allowed to date, but he could date her friends! lmbo! ;)

She so cute now, that I dread her teenage years....the boys won't even be allowed to look at her! lol!

I guess I'm the only one here--I think he's adorable, but I think he would be cuter without the beard. But I really am not a fan of facial hair in general. I just think very few men can wear it well since it often grows in kinda sparse, especially when they're younger. But that's just my opinion.
