do you organize your photos in lightroom?

I tag and organize in Photoshop Organizer (part of PSE5) but just got Lightroom 2.0 and was wondering if I should migrate my photos and organizing to there. Anyone use it not just for photo adjustments for actually organizing their photos? I'd like to hear about what you think of using it for that.
 
No, but I just had a free trial. If I can every buy the thing i probably will but it will take me forever. There's hundreds and probably closer to a thousand pics in that catalog :blink:
 
I do! I'm still in the process of getting everything set up but so far it's one of my favorite photo organizing programs. If you have any specific questions or anything, just let me know.

I felt this way when I first started using it too. I did not get why everyone was raving about it but I went ahead and bought it anyway. Then I signed up for Kelby Training and did the Lightroom class and it made it SO much simpler and easier. I was actually amazed by how easy it is to do things in there once I actually understood how it all works.
 
i was in the process of going through that class when the fire happened. i lost lightroom and adobe said i would have to rebuy it since i didn't have the code anymore. i had to buy cs3 bc of the same reason and didn't have the money to buy lightroom too. i am watching the reviews on lightroom2 b4 i decide to fork over the money again.
 
I don't. Mine are tagged in....um....Picasa I think, possibly ACDSee. Mine are in folders by year, month, event and named by whatevery is going on inthe photo & I've looked at all of them so often, trying to find photos to scrap that I just sort of know generally what I am looking for. I've never used the tags. :)

I've thought about using Lightroom2 to organize them since I do use it for editig sometimes. But i just hate having to open up one program after another to scrap something or blog something.
 
thanks for that link Lynette I think that might be a good idea for me, I actually haven't used lightroom at all before so I'd like to learn how to utilize it.

Stacey - my photos are organized the same way in folders by date etc, but I like the tagging to find pics of a specific kid or whatever.
