Ok, so DD, Maddie, wrote an essay on Monday applying to be on Student Council (she's in 5th grade- oldest grade at her elem.)...she is so passionate about her school and community! LOL It was so intense. The ideas she shared and the way she worded her essay blew me away! She is such an intellectual. 
DH and I are clueless as to where it comes from.
Today she was almost in tears thinking that if she made it how excited she would be to then run as School President. Mind you this is elementary school we are talkin, but the child has such a true passion for politics.
...her ending statement in her essay was "If you elect me to The Student Council, I promise to put all my heart, soul and energy into making Bethke the best school around!"
Anyway...keep her in your thoughts today and I'll update you all later today when I find out!
