Not new to buying but new to the forums :p
I am Kim :)

I currently traditional scrap, but as soon as I am done with my son's first year, I will be transferring to only digi scrapping. I like the freedom of it and that I dont waste REAL papers/elements if I mess up or dont like how it turned out.

Anyways, looking forward to diving in!

I did want to ask though, how do you print out your pages? Do you go through a store/company? Are they loose prints or do you print them as a book?

Hi Kim! Welcome to Sweet shoppe!

Personally, I print them singly at Sams and put them in traditional scrapbooks in page protectors. It's just my preferred way, but doing photobooks seems to be the way a lot of people are moving to.

welcome kim, cannot wait to have you dive in and go digi!! :D

as far as printing...some print them by individual pages and others order books. the ladies (and gent) around here will answer more specifically if you need them to. :)

thanks girls. I guess I will have to shop around with the printing and see what would work best for me :)

YAY!! Welcome!!

And I personally prefer to print bound books because I'm a chronological scrapper... but you can certainly print them off individually!

Where do you get them through. I am leaning towards that way because I do it chronological as well.

There are several popular sites: MyPicTales, Shutterfly, Artscow, Viovio, Heritage Makers....

I've tried MPT, Shutterfly, and Artscow. I wasn't 100% thrilled with any of them, but I think MPT was the best of the three. Shutterfly was the worst and also the most expensive option of those three. I am in the process of making my first Viovio book and I've heard wonderful things about them... plus they have amazing prices. Heritage Makers is really expensive, but is supposed to be very good... if I don't like Viovio I guess I'll have to try them!! ;)

Ill look MPT and Viovio up. I debated on going through Creative Memories (thats who I trad Scrap with) but it is a little more limiting as far as layouts from what I have seen.

Thanks!

Welcome, Kim!
I've printed both ways. I've had bound books made by bound2remember (it was about 3 years ago. It's a beautiful book but $$$) and Shutterfly. I've also printed at Costco and Whcc. I'm a chronological scrapper so I like the bound books but I'm also a year behind so I want some instant gratification when I finish a page! :)

Welcome, Kim! So glad you are here! I have a wide format printer, and print my pages at home. I'm not a chronological scrapper, though, so I just put them in page protectors in an album.

Make yourself at home! :)

I didn't know they printed books... and why would it limit your layouts? Do you have to scrap using their site or something?

Hi Kim! Welcome to SSD!

I print my layouts individually at scrapbookpictures.com and put them in traditional scrapbooks. This is just my personal opinion, but the photo books seem so permanent, and I'm afraid I might want to reorganize my albums one day. I don't know if that will ever happen, but for now printing them individually works well for me. I think the photo books are beautiful, and I'd certainly do one for a very specific themed album, one that I know I'd never want to reorganize at some point.

Welcome!!!! It's great to have you here!!

I have just ordered my first set of loose page prints from My Pic Tales. It will be the first actual prints I have done. A lot of people do photo books as well. :)

Welcome Kim!

I'm still figuring out exactly how I want to print too! :) I've printed a few at Costco and got some single prints from MPT, but I kinda like the idea of a bound book, so I may end up with those too :)

Yeah they print books. I have seen them in person and they are really nice. You use their program ($50) to print them (books vary on size and cover $47-80*I think* for 20pages and you can add pages for add$... ). It has premade layouts that you can just add kits to and they also make it so you can move and/or delete parts of that layout. There is a free demo of it you can download from their site but with that one you cant change the layout. With the paid program you can also add scrappy stuff that is nonCM but they make it a little hard to do. So thats why I havent decided yet. I want it to be easy to do or I would not be as inclined to sit down and scrap with it. I might reconsider once I find out if I can use their elements outside their program.

Wow, lol rereading it I sound like a consultant
