Mad Men on AMC

I've been watching season 1 from Netflix and I'm hooked...has season 2 already aired? Is it a summer series? I'm going to be so sad if I have to wait until season 2 comes on DVD...was hoping to tivo it.

Best. Show. EVER.

I seriously LOVE Mad Men.

I got in on Season 1 late, so I bought the whole season on itunes and watched it that way last year. We're about 1/2 way through season 2 now (airing Sunday nights and then repeated several times throughout the week). It'll probably be several months before it's out on DVD. Last year, the season wrapped up around October.

You might check the AMC website. It's possible they air full episodes. If not, you can buy the full season pass on iTunes for like $20 (I'll end up buying it myself) and you can watch it on your computer if you don't have an ipod.

Don't you love it??? Each episode is better than the last.

Thanks for the info Libby! I do love it...the first episode I wasn't so sure but like you said it just gets better with each show. LOVE the costuming.

Totally! Did you watch the little documentary where they talked about how the director went to great lengths to make sure every little detail in the show is accurate? I often forget that it's a modern show because it just has the feel of the 60's (not that I'm personally familiar with what that FELT like, but well... you know)

I LOVE MAD MEN.

The second season is going now on AMC. You might be able to get the past episodes On Demand. They had season one On Demand for free for awhile.

The second season has about 2 slow (but necessary) episodes and then takes off. Those two episodes just move the storyline along....and it just gets better and better.

I watched last night and am dying for next Sunday. I can't wait to see what happens with Draper and Betty.

And the set/costumes are to die for!

My dh and I just started watching Mad Men from netflix and we love it. We finished season 1 and I'm dying to see more.....I fear my dh will disown me if I pay $20 for season 2 on itunes but I'm not sure I can wait LOL.

I really tried to like this show, but I just don't! Don't know why -- it just seems very slow and very "talky" to me. Talky is usually not necessarily a bad thing, but for some reason, I don't like it here.

We are about 4 episodes in to the first season and I feel the same way. It just seems SO slow..does it pick up??

Well, see, I liked it from the first episode, so it's hard for me to say if it really picks up or not as I never thought it was slow. LOL! But there are some really interesting storylines. It's not an action-packed show or anything, but it always holds my interest.

I dunno. I can see where it wouldn't be for everyone, but it's one of my favorite shows.

I haven't watched it. I remember seeing the ads and thinking it was like a retro male, artsy fartsy version of Desperate Housewives...which I also don't watch (did for one season before I made myself accept the fact that it wasn't appropriate for our home). I'm not a prude, but I try to live the same rules that I expect of my kids, and I'd never let them watch shows like DH or Friends or any of the shows where extra/pre-marital relationships are common practice.

Ironically, I'm pretty sure all of my shows somehow involve murder though. Monk, Psych, Law and Order, Cold Case...hmmm...of course, before all those shows were ever around, I was obsessed with Perry Mason. I guess I'm hoping that it's easier to see that murder is definitely crossing the line...maybe because it's not acceptable either morally or legally, unlike the moving morality line in other areas of our lives.
