wows! my dd is 7 in yr3 here, just got above averages in his sats, and is being taught in a group of high acheivers, but i doubt he would have done that! to be fair that shows some pretty logical intelligent thinking and i agree really maybe marking his wrong isnt entirely fair? wow you really got me thinking on this one now. he did get the question wrong in fairness but it shows a different level of thinking going on that should be recognised mmmm interesting!
 
My friends daughter got 'scolded' by her kindergarten teacher for not finishing her colouring. The teacher thought she was being lazy, or not following instructions. Poor little Kathleen came home in tears... "I DID finish my colouring! I left it white! It was a picture of a polar bear!!!"
 
well there's a life lesson to scrap - the right answer isn't always right and teacher's aren't always exactly right! i'd definitely be journalling how proud u are of his 'mistake'!
