any bank tellers here?

I was just wondering how this worked. Yesterday I deposited what I thought were 4 checks via the drive through. Got a receipt for what I thought I should. But when I got home I discovered that I had forgotten one of the checks.

I thought that the teller verifies the deposit. I plan on going back today with the other check.

Do the tellers just use the deposit slip I fill out and then the bank verifies everything later?

I worked at a bank for 7 years through college and it just kind of depends. If they are really busy, they may not verify and just run it through since there is no cash, and then when they actually process it, they will run it for the correct amount and you may or may not get a correction notice in the mail. We would sometimes verify or count checks, but sometimes you get deposits with like 50 checks in them and that would just take to long. Hope this helps!

I am not a bank teller, but I did this before as well, and what happened was, the amount went into my account. I have no hold on cheques, so I could access the funds right away, but later I received a correction notice and the amount was removed from my account.
