ok, I have always just thrown my unzipped fonts into my fonts folder in windows. Never had a problem until I switched to PS. I can see them all in PSP, but the are not all showing up with PS. Every other program I use (word, excel, etc) they show up.

Is there a different way to store your font files to access them in PS 7???

hmm, the fonts in PS are the ones loaded in your Windows Fonts folder.
Too many fonts can make PS cranky though.

Only if you're running older OS's like Windows 2000, etc. XP can handle the fonts as long as your machine is decent.

Yep - Mimi is right - windows/fonts. There is no separate loading of fonts for PS 7. Offhand, I can't remember any reason why you wouldn't see the fonts in PS...

Here's a hint I just found by googling..I never had to do this with mine but you might want to give a shot.

Once you install a new font to the fonts directory in XP going into the control panel and clicking fonts? This rebuilds your font list and should make all your fonts availble to what ever programs you are running.

I'm not familiar with PS7 but is it possible it doesn't have the capability to preview fonts since it's a pretty old version of PS? I know in PSE3 I wasn't able to preview the fonts but in PSE6 I can, I don't think that was available til PSE4.

I used PS7 til about a year ago, Shawna - and you could access any font. You can't see previews of them, just like you can't in PSCS (that's why I have a font manager) but there weren't any you couldn't use.

I ditto Darcy, I am still using PS6 and there is no font preview, so I have to use a font manager...which I love and would probably use anyway. I just use a freeware one called AMP Font viewer. It lets me browse the fonts stored on my machine and install/uninstall at will, so handy and has a bunch of good preview features. HTH!

thanks Darcy!

I went to the control panel, clicked on fonts, and now I can access most of my fonts ... well, from 18th Century up to the Pea fonts anyways. From the P's to the Z's won't show up now. ARGH! I can't win.

Wanna know the funny thing? I was trying to get it so I could use your fonts! hehehee
