Blog question

Okay, so I just set up a new blog yesterday and I've noticed (and received a comment about it) that my header isn't centered. I'm using Zoe's Blog in a Box, which I love. In the instructions it says resize the header to 900, which I did, fine. The problem is that anywhere I upload it, the site changes the size. I've tried PhotoBucket, ImageShack, Flickr, Picasa, even Shutterfly.

So the question is, where online do you store your header so that it isn't automatically resized???

TIA for the help!

The directions I have say to upload it online somewhere. I'm using blogger and Zoe's blog in a box comes with all the html set up, you just stick the codes in for the things like the header, etc. So I think I need to have it hosted somwhere.

Any other suggestions?

Hmmmm, that's weird. I've never had PB resize anything of mine. Mine is all custom sized (cuz I'm anal retentive like that). I hope you can figure out, but it still looks really cute :p

also couldnt the coding be tweaked a little so that if it is being changed on the image hosting sites it would still be centered?

When I did it through PB it was never centered, but when I finally thought to try it right from my computer - and checked the resize box first - it worked like a charm.

Yeah, I'm so new at all of this, I don't know how to upload it from my computer. I'm just using Zoe's stuff which includes all the code and everything, you just insert your images where it says to, then copy all of it into the html part of your blog. I guess I'll just leave it until I learn more about what I'm doing.

I had that problem, too, and Becca helped me. It's really simple. At PB, there's a little place where it tells you what size to fit image too (I think for screen sizes). Mine was checked smaller than 900, so it kept shrinking it. All I had to do was select the bigger size and then it worked! HTH...if not, PM me and I'll see if I can help you. :)

OK, this might be a PITA - but in photobucket you might have your Max image dimensions set to something that is resizing your pics. When you are looking at the main album page of Photobucket right underneath the upload field there's a drop down menu that says "Reduce to" Try clicking on "more options" to thr right of that and setting your default to "17 inch screen 1024X768" Save changes, and that should (no promises, it IS photobucket) let you upload a 900px width picture without resizing it. I hope that helps!

I left mine for a few months! In Blogger - click on Layout. That should bring up a screen that just looks like a blank template.
In the header box area click on Edit.
A pop up box will come up with "configure header"
Remove whatever is there now (if anything)
Under placement click Instead of title
Click on Resize and then browse and pick header from your computer.

PM me if that doesn't work.

I was the one who left you the comment! LOL! Diana and Jennifer are right, you just need to change your PB settings and then it will be ok.

Woohoo! Thanks ladies! I found exactly what you were talking about on PhotoBucket, changed it, re-uploaded it, then plugged it in at the ole' blog. And it looks much better!!!

Isn't there a box on the page that says "custom fit". If you click this box before you upload the image in your template, it should work.
