Chicken Pox!

My son has it despite vaccinations. He's 8, so he's being really good about not scratching, but he feels compelled to tell me about every new "spot" that pops up. Who doesn't love a good play-by-play commentary?!

I hope my daughter doesn't pick it up, too. She's in 5 honors and pre-ap classes...missing school would suck.

LOL on the play-by-play!

As someone who got it BAD as an adult a good FYI is baking soda baths. I was unbearably itchy and they helped so much!

I hope the vaccine will mean that at least he doesn't get it too badly -- that's how it worked with my DD.

My DS1 got a slight case after his vaccination too...not too bad though!!! Hope it is not too bad for him and your daughter does not get it too!!!

I hope it doesn't get too bad! Benjamin had it when he was 2, but he was totally covered from head to toe!

Cross fingers your DD doesn't get it too!

so sorry he has the pox Krystal :( I really hope your DD doesn't get them. If she had the vaccine as well the immunity from it MAY have worn off depending on her age.

This is a common occurance with the vaccine .... which makes me wonder how effective it really is - just my 2 cents ;)

the aveeno oatmeal bath stuff helped here too....my middle two got the pox when they were 2 1/2 and 14 months. My older son - that got it first - had a light case, but then my younger son (the 14 month old) had a very long hard case because he had been exposed so much more.

Aww poor guy! Both my kids and myself had in in February of 2007! They don't vaccinate for it here, so I was happy they got it over with. They both handled it pretty well! Hope your guy gets over them fast and you DD avoids them!

Aw, poor boy! I am not going to vax my daughter for it, hopefully she will get it natually. Hope your little boy feels better!! I remember having it while we were at the beach one year and boy did that salt water feel good!

Poor thing. I hope he feels better soon and your daughter doesn't get it. I'm hoping my daughter gets it before she can remember it. I got it in first grade and I remember every itchy detail. Oatmeal baths sound wonderful! Wished we'd thought of them back when I had it.
