is there any way to combine 2 documents into 1?
I goofed on the tracker (don't ask) and somehow I have 2 different documents that I need to combine into 1 so I don't have to go retrack the progress. Anybody? lol

Are the headers/columns the same? If so, you can just copy/paste. If you want, send the files to me and I can fix it for you and get it bak to you quickly. rkdias@comcast.net

well I've tried copy/pasting but it doesn't work for me. Replaces the cells instead of adding the ones I'm missing. (If that makes ANY sense lol)
I emailed them to you though maybe it'll work for you

Yes, there are a couple different ways. If you want two seperate sheets in one document, just use the tabs on the bottom. If you want the same format for both, just right click on the tab and copy the first document and then cut/paste the data from the second document into the copied tab. If you want to combine the data, you'd need to add forumulas to a third tab and have them draw from the previous two tabs. HTH.

I don't mean both sheets onto 1 document like that though. I mean can I take the info IN my cells on one sheet and paste them INTO the empty cells on another sheet that already has info on it. (does that make ANY sense? lol I'm confusing myself)

Meghan, you should be able to do that by highlighting the cells you want to copy then hitting ctrl+c and then highlighting the first cell in the other sheet you want to paste to and hitting ctrl+v. I work with excel all day at work so I feel pretty comfortable with it. If you still need help tomorrow, I'll give you my work email and I can fix it for you.

Meghan, you shouldn't have to do individual cells. Just drag your mouse down the column(s) and/or row(s) you want to copy so that they are all highlighted (if you hit ctrl+alt+arrow key it will highlight the entire column and or row until the first blank cell). Then go to the sheet you want to paste to and highlight the cell you want your data to start at and hit paste. It will copy over anything already in those cells. You can copy and paste an infinite number of cells each time. HTH!

Meg if you just copy and paste over the cells the formulas won't be there anymore. BUT, if you use the "SHOW FORMULAS" feature you can view the formula so you can paste that into the data. I am assuming that your problem is with the forumulas calculating properly. Does that make sense?
