I'm back

My grandfather died 18 hours after I got there so if I had've waited another day to go, I would've missed him. Although, he was so medicated he didn't even know we were there. He just looked so different than the Grampie I knew. He was about 110lbs, down from 175lbs or so back in March. His memorial service was yesterday and it was wonderful. Many family and friends were there...about 200 or so. I just wished I could've gone to my Grammie's house with the rest of the family afterward. Instead, I had to drive home to relieve my MIL of her babysitting duties. She was antsy to get back to her cleaning. Ugh. Like that's so important...

Last weekend made me realize how badly I want to move back home. My whole family is there and I am close to them. Here DH has his parents and his brother/SIL/niece, but that's it. No other family. Houses are more affordable in my hometown, so I think if DH wants a better house (not a duplex like we have now) he'll go along with moving there. He's rarely working in the city anyway, so that wouldn't matter. He's actually doing a new school in my hometown right now!

I realized we had lice the day Grampie died. I saw one in my hair and 2 more later on then I called my MIL the next day and she checked the girls. Kristen had a ton of them! Took hours of me picking through her hair to get all the eggs and newly hatched nymphs, but I think she's pretty clear now. She was able to go to school today, so that's good. We'll be having our 2nd treatment on Saturday and I hope we never get them again!!

Oh yeah, and I caught a cold too...it was inevitable I guess. My mom, dad, brother and sister all had one. LOL

Anyway, I don't feel like turning this thing on much right now, so I dunno how much I'll be around...

I'm so sorry Jennifer. :( I'm sorry you felt you had to rush back to please your MIL, I'm sorry you're homesick, I'm sorry about the lice, and I'm especially sorry you had to see your grampie like that. (((hugs))) to you!

I'm so sorry for your loss, please accept my deepest condolensces. {{{HUGS}}} Ugh about the lice, that really stinks. Hopefully things start looking up soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( We lost my grandpa this past January and it was so hard. :( You are in my thoughts.

I'm glad you got to spend a little time with your family, and I hope you get to move back home! Hopefully, the pain of your grandfather passing will subside over time, and you can just enjoy the good memories.

Yuck on the lice!!

Sorry for all the sad things right now. I know what you mean about wanting to be nearer family. I hope that you are able to move soon.

awww! :( You poor thing! {{hugs}} I really hope that the cold doesn't stick around and I am sooooo sorry for your loss. {{BIG HUGS}}

i'm so sorry for your loss. i've been there done that with loved ones being sick and not looking like themselves. My grampa died of brain cancer when i was 13. Those last few weeks before he passed, whenever i went in the room, he was always asking "who are you?" not a fun experience for a 13 year old.
