Okay so I have almost 4 kids, you think I would know. I have NEVER had this in my past three kids/pregnancies. My husband and I dtd and it was pretty uncomfortable. I had to use the bathroom right after so I ran to pee and there was a tiny bit of spotting on the tp. It was pink/light red and just a very small amount but was on the tp when I wiped the first 3 times. I then had very very mild cramps for less then 5 minutes. I have never spotted in any of my pregnancys. I have heard its normal. I dont want to call my doctor freaking over such a small amount of blood unless its absolutely necessary. Right now I feel okay just kinda hungry lol. I am def gonna call on Monday just to let them know. But should I be really freaked out?? I would be lieing if I said Im not afraid suddenly.

just rest, drink lots of fluids etc... lay down you know, that stort of stuff. More than likely it was just because of the s.e.x. but better to take it easy. If you start cramping a lot call your dr.

I understand why you'd be scared. I'd call, but I'd guess everything is fine. I've spotted with all 3 of mine... at 10 weeks, at 5 weeks, and at 14 weeks, respectively... it's scarey though, I know. I went in with Parker's since it was 2nd tri but if you're not in pain I'd try not to worry TOO much. (((hugs)))

I think as long as there is not too much bright red blood your fine. You probably just have a slight cervical irritation from the sex. Id rest up for a while and if it increases then call your doc.
A small amount of Spotting is completely normal though.

I've also spotted at various times during all my pregnancies (except this one so far). It is always scary. It sounds like your spotting was definitely caused by DTD. I'd probably give your OB a call but it sounds like you've got nothing to worry about (hugs)!

yeah spotting after dtd when you're not pregnant is even normal. You could be a bit swollen making it tighter and more irritated down there. It's normal, I would say.

lite pink spotting is not uncommon and ditto on what the other ladies said.

p.s. i snorted when you typed "dtd"...LOL!

Just a bit of pink can be so scary, huh? I've seen several threads at BBC about this (between this pg and my last). I actually had my what to expect book out because I was wondering about something earlier (despite having done this whole pg thing before) and I looked it up quick for you...the advice of the book is that spotting is very common, but something to mention to the doc...it also says the cramping is fairly normal following dtd. Good luck, hope everything settles out for ya. good thoughts from one april momma to another....

Hi
Since it is Friday and probably easier to get ahold of your doctor than on the weekend, I would call. It is probably nothing, but if it worries you, I would call. You will rest a lot better(and not stress this weekend) when the dr says it is nothing to worry about too. Good luck.

I love you girls thank you, I am gonna lay around and make my husband cater to my every whim this weekend cause im a big baby and an evil one at that LOL and then call the doc on Monday. I wish I had a laptop so I could lay in bed and just hang out with you girls tonight. This chair is killing my butt. Ugh this pregnancy has been unlike anything I have ever been through. The symptoms are insane, being sick. The ironic thing is I wanted it to drag originally knowing it was our last so I could "savor' it as I once told Wes LOL. Yeah not so much now, I just want to blink and it to be April LOL. Really this is my home away from home and I feel much better reading all of your responses.

Oh Robin just missed ya babe. They are closed cause its 7 pm here :( I will have to go through the answering service and then probably onto the hospital if they decide that.

Sounds like a good plan! I've had repeated light spotting with all 3 of mine somewhere between 10 and 16 weeks. The amount of spotting you described, especially with such an obvious cause, isn't cause for concern (though of course you stay concerned for a while, until you're sure it wasn't the start of something more). Call your docs if you want reassurance or just to update them. They'll probably say to call if it gets worse or put you on pelvic rest for a few weeks (no more DTD or strenuous exercise, but normal activity and walking is fine).

I had this happen with Mason when I was 9 weeks pregnant...I spotted a little bit afterwards and DH freaked out and called the doctor, who scheduled me for an "emergency" ultrasound and put me on bedrest for the 2 days until my ultrasound. Though he said that it was most likely caused by that - and the ultrasound turned out fine.

I spotted with my youngest and my OB said to lay down on my left side and drink lots of water. Just rest and don't stress. It's normal, but if it continues or gets worse, you should call the doctor.

Lie down and take it easy, if it gets worse, go to the doctor. I had spotting with three of my four pregnancies. With Amelia, I had crampy, bright red bleeding for a week when I was 11 weeks, and she turned out just fine.

((hugs)) I remember the panic well, but I have a bunch-o-babies to show for it, and they were none the worse for wear.

I wouldn't worry about the spotting, if you get anymore than that, then maybe worry.

I didn't have any spotting with Keira, then I had 3 miscarriages, I had spotting, but within the hour of noticing the spotting is was like having my period, heavy flow. My cramping was in my back too, not in my tummy.

With Cooper I had a tad of spotting and I thought for sure I was going to miscarry, but I didn't have anymore.

Just rest.

I spotted with both pregnancies. Doctor always said to just take it easy, feet up, that kind of thing. Then sadly...I got put on "uterine rest" nice term for no lovins with DH. :( but everything was okay every time I spotted.

I also had spotting (and even heavier) with both and they're totally fine. Really take it easy, drink plenty of fluids, and don't lift anything. Just rest and try to relax (easier said than done, I know). ((HUGS))

Yup, I had bright red bleeding with my last pregnancy and everything turned out fine. But I was totally freaking out and my doctor even told me over the phone I was probably miscarrying (I was out of town). It wasn't until I had the ultrasound that I calmed down about it.

Of course, the one time I did have a miscarriage, the only sign I had was my morning sickness went away all of a sudden. I did not start bleeding. I found out at my 12-week appointment when they couldn't find the heartbeat. After two weeks of waiting for my body dispose of it, I couldn't handle it emotionally any more and ended up having an D&C. Very tramatic experience for me!

So I guess my point is you just never know what is going on with your body until you are checked out and have an ultrasound.
