So, it's become our tradition that I take my nieces & nephew to Disney On Ice every year. I absolutely love it, usually. I get presales through my hockey tickets, and opening night is half price except for the ice level tickets. So, if I'm on the ball, I get a wicked deal on awesome seats in the lower bowl pretty much every year. It's our big night out, I spoil them rotten with all the overpriced crap, and the shows are usually awesome.

This year it's High School Musical. Ugh. I'm sure it'll be fun because, ultimately, it's all about the big production and skating. So we'll have fun, I'm sure. But have I ever mentioned how much I freakin' hate HSM and all that type crap? LOL It makes me want to gouge my eardrums and eyeballs out almost as much as Celine Dion does! :D

Ah, well, my 9yo & 11yo nieces?... bouncing off the freakin' walls they're so excited. I just scooped our tickets for us. Awesome seats for cheap cheap, and my niece was in heaven when I told her. So, in spite of my HSM hate, that really does make it all worthwhile. :)

Anyone else going? Or already been?... because I know these shows are way different times of the year, depending on where you are.

Ours is this weekend, and we just don't have the money :( I would've loved to take our kids (maybe not my oldest son, lol). But Destiny (8 yo) and Colton (4 yo) would've loved it. And **secretly** Lane (12 yo) would have liked it too, but would never have said it outloud!

Aw, that's too bad, Nikki. :( I am sooo thankful for the half price tickets opening night, otherwise it's really hard to pull off going some years. It's tough, because the kids would understand if we couldn't go one year, but it is our traditional outing, so they would be so crushed even though they'd say it's okay.

And **secretly** Lane (12 yo) would have liked it too, but would never have said it outloud!LOL

As much as I'm grumbling about it, I know I'll end up having a good time. These shows are always a lot of fun, and the most fun is watching the kids and how they react to it all.

Dusty told me that if we would've had the money, he would've taken a friend to walk around with --- no way was he going in there with us. And he would've teased Lane so bad for going. Maybe that's our sign! LOL

I didn't see it (HSM on Ice was just here at the State Fair), and I didn't want it. I was kind of bummed...I was hoping this year's show would be something little kid friendly, ie princesses, animals, etc. Rachel's almost 3 and we thought she's love the ice show this year, until we saw what it was. Oh well, maybe next year!

Errr...no. But if we had a school-ageder I'm sure we'd be doing things like this too. I think it's awesome that you're giving them such a special day!! Is your nephew as excited as the girls?
