Then you gotta get this comb...my girls and I have been battling lice for the past week and a half and I have gotten the girls clean (although I'll keep checking them for a bit) but I didn't have anyone to check my own hair... DH didn't want to waste time doing it :glare: so I went and bought this (http://www.nittygritty.co.uk/ng/index.jsp?page=/productInfo.jsp&productId=3) - the Nitty Gritty NitFree comb. Tried it as soon as I got it in the mail (shipping was really fast!) and it caught 5 teensy tiny nits that I doubt even I'd see if I could go through my own hair. Such an awesome thing and totally worth the money! If you have gone through a lice scare before, you know how annoying it is....this thing will really help the next time you or your family members get them!
I got mine at www.ecoginesis.com rather than the UK site that I linked to up above, but that link has more info on it.

My stepdaughter came from her mom's with it (we see her every other weekend) no less than 5 times in 3 months last year. I so needed that. I was the only one taking care of it.

Yeah, my MIL and DH were taking care of the girls when I realized we had them. They gave them the treatment on Saturday but didn't do anything else. I got home on Monday night and went through Kristen's hair immediately and by the time I was done, I probably got about 300 eggs off her head. So what if the comb doesn't work (DH's excuse)...you go in and get the darned things out with your hands! Grrr..

Jenny-
you just totally gave me a laugh today, which I needed...I followed the links, and saw the Neon Nits spray for hair...as a kindergarten teacher, I am constantly dealing with lice, and the last two years, had CHRONIC lice students...I wish their parents had taken efforts like you...I had to email the neon nits product to my principal. It's hilarious, but a product many parents actually need!!!! Thanks for giving me a giggle today, and good luck dealing with the lice! (and I'm keeping that link, because I'll need it eventually!!!)

I just checked Kristen with it (who I thought was clean) and found 3 more teeny nits on her! I am really really happy I bought that thing...who knows what sort of hassle it would've been if I didn't find those tiny ones!

When we had lice I used a product, can't remember the name right now, but it doesn't have any chemicals in it so you can use it over and over again. It's made from the same stuff they use in hair produces and sort of shrink wraps the lice in silicon and kills them. No combing is nesessary either, though I did comb, but only for 10 -15 mins. I only had to use it once and for Sophia I used it 3 times. The first killed off all the live ones in minutes, then I waited 3-4 days until I saw more hatching and used it again and then waited another week. She was all clear by then, but I wanted to be doubly sure. :lol
