Don't you hate when people you know spam you with emails you don't want?!

A former friend of mine sells candles/cosmetics/something on the side. Although we were pretty good friends 6-7 years ago, we fell out of touch and just remain in contact through occasional Facebook posts and photo comments. Over the last year or so, I've received approximately 4-5 emails from her soliciting for this side business and/or advertising a sale she's running.

I have never bought anything from her or expressed interest in receiving these emails. It's so infrequent that I had decided to just delete them as they came in and not bother with asking her to stop emailing me, but this morning, I received TWO emails advertising some kind of sale because she messed up the first email and the graphic didn't show up the way she wanted.

A little petty vent, I know, but so annoying. :p
 
ITA! My mom had a friend before she moved that handled my flowers for my wedding years ago - she had my e-mail address from then and now e-mails me (and my mom) junk e-mail and chain letters all the time. When my mom moved, she had to change her e-mail address, so this friend contacted me to find out what it was - I told her I'd let my mom know she was trying to get in touch with her. I don't think my mom's contacted her yet... I think she was just as annoyed as me.
So yes, it is very annoying! I usually ask if someone wants to get those kind of e-mails (either soliciting or junk/chain) before passing them on.
 
My MIL is the queen of spamming me...she is pretty computer illiterate and only has dial up so she can email.Well..you know all those bogus emails you get...she thinks they are all for real and nothing we say can convince her otherwise. She forwards me every one she gets and then calls to make sure I've read it so that I don't drink aspartame b/c it can give you cancer and that I've seen the list of about a million cosmetic brands that can give you cancer etc. etc. ...It drives me CRAZY!
 
I get them too. I dont really let them bother me to much. Just delete and move on. Mostly I get those chain mails like mail this to 1-5 people and you get this mail this to 5-15 people and so on and so forth. I must have the worst luck by now because I never forward any of them. I will forward funny jokes though. Never really thought it would bother anyone though.

But what did bug me is when my sister first isgned up for facebook she added me she was sending me like 20 app. invites a day for weeks. Then she asked me why I never add any and I told her because I dont add anything I wont use. She finally stopped sending them constantly LOL
 
oh yes. I wish I could just say to them "ok, so I know what you sell, when I need something i will come looking for you"
 
I have a lady that tried to get me to sell Melaleuca and now she spams me ALL the time!
 
My biggest email pet peeve is forwards! I mean, seriously. My MIL is always sending me those "send this to 10 friends and you'll have good luck for a year" emails. Really? Does she really buy into that? If not, WHY is she sending them to me?!?!?!?!?!?

I also hate when people send me those outrageous emails about how myspace/Disney/Bill Gates will donate five cents to some child with cancer/aids/no legs for every person that forwards the email. Seriously? C'mon People!!

Ugh.

Have you received text message forwards yet?! OMG I hate those. DONT waste my money!! I have to pay for that unwanted crap you just sent me!

My cousin has been doing this the past few weeks with political emails. He is a strong Mccain supporter and I am not. So most of the time I just delete them.

Thank you Jenny, I just snorted ice tea. LOL!!!!

I just hit delete delete delete and move on. I don't open ANYTHING that has "fwd:" in the subject, lol.
 
Back on our playgroup board, we all exchanged email addresses, and I got spammed to death by a couple of them (fwds). I finally actually had to email them to tell them to knock it off, since then, I hardly get anything, except an occasional one from my mom, or my friends Nik and Dee, but they are usually hilarious, so I don't mind LOL.

I am with you! My 14 year old daughter uses my cell to text her friends. They don't know that it's my phone. So they send her those stupid forwards and I usually text them back something stupid.

UGH, me too. I have a couple of friends/family members who are really conservative and keep forwarding me these bizarre, paranoid e-mails that circulate about Obama being the antichrist or the next Hitler, etc. I'm always so shocked when I get them because it makes me look at my friends in a different light that (1) they are so naive to buy into this crap, (2) they think other people will want to read it, and (3) they know me SO little that they think I would agree? Or do they think I'm just gonna say, "OH, so this proves that Barak Obama is really the Antichrist. Guess I won't vote for him."

Then I get all scare e-mails about the poisonous spider under the toilet seat, life-threatening disease on soda can, achilles tendon slashing hijacker hiding under your car, note on the back windshield car-jacker, crying baby on the front porch burglar (or was it a rapist?), yadda, yadda yadda. I pretty much don't believe anything I get by e-mail anymore!

I have to say, though, that since I started sending links to snopes debunking all of them, people have finally stopped sending me so many. Guess they got the hint.

Oh yes! I hate those! Have these people never heard of Snopes? lol
 
So funny that you would post this because I just got BOMBED by a friend with chain letters, jokes, surverys.... It was like she finally decided to clean out her in box and just forwarded everything.
 
I had someone get mad at me because she forwarded the one about the rattlesnakes and AIDS infested hypodermic needles in a ballpit to me and I forwarded the link to debunk the email to her and she was all offended and said its better safe then sorry and that it is possible that there could be a hypodermic needle or a rattlesnake in a ballpit. It just makes me LOL when I get those emails. Then there is one I got that says the spider lays eggs inside your body or something like that. Another one that says deoderant causes cancer. My best friend wont wear deoderant anymore that contains a certain ingredient. She went to several stores to get a certain type of natural deoderant because of that email. I told her it is a hoax but she still believes it
 
I get seriously annoyed with my Mil too LOL. She is the spam email queen! I get annoyed with the myspace bulletin spam too, those irk me to no end!
