Scrappin style...a little question for fun.

So I look through the gallery and I see so many scrapping styles. I wonder sometimes if your scrapping style matches your personal decorating style...does that make sense?

I envy white space scrappers. I seem genetically programmed to not be able to do it! I cannot stop adding stuff, and then all that lovely space is gone. But then same with my house. Not a bare shelf, wall or table in sight. :p

I have a very ecclectic, cluttered (but clean) style in my home.

So out of curiosity....what about you guys houses? Do they match your style???

Yes, I think so now that you mention it. I really do tend to decorate like I scrap - pretty but not overdone, I guess. :) I see all these beautifully embellished pages and wish I could do that but sometimes it's just too much for me, kwim? Same with my house - I love all the knick knacks and things in other people's homes but I can't stand all that stuff in my own. lol :D

See its funny cause my scrapping style is all over the place LOL So I think it refelcts different parts of me. I love the whimsical and if I had the time and money that would totally reflect in my childrens rooms. When we buy a home of our own I have no doubt I will go nutso on that. Then I love very cozy but clean furniture. Nothing to fancy so its funny because I dont know how that work into my scrapping style at all.

nope nothing the same. Well then again if I had more money my home would look alot different. I tend to gravitate towards homey/country styles for the home. Love pretty fabrics and lacey stuff. I also love light woods. Cant stand dark rooms/woods/paint. It is just to formal. I love looking through southern/country decorating magazines though. OMGosh I would seriously love to have my whole house pulled straight from some of those pages LOL

LOL!!! Nothing like my house at alllllll.... My house - well, we won't go there.

(This goes back to my please motivate me thread from a couple days ago!)

no, i don't think so. On my LOs I agonize over the placement of every single thing. Not quite like that in my house :D

if you see my scrapping as clean, lotsa layers, coordinated, warm and transitional then yes the two go together perfectly. :p (gonna toot for a sec) my home is decorated, i don't have a formal interior design degree, but many who come to my home think i have hired someone. so i suppose in a way the two match, neutral bg (paint), with lots of layers (furniture, decor, accessories etc.). :) it also takes me forever to do a lo cause i baby it and stuff...lol. i do the same with my home. always cleaning always improving/decorating. :D

I would say that my scrapping style does NOT match my decorating style at home. My house is very shabby chic, sort of warm and vintage-y (is that a word?). I find that my scrapping style is all over the place, but I don't normally go for the vintage look when I scrap... how strange! LOL!

I think in some ways I'm more adverturous when I scrap, I'm not as afraid of bright colors and prints as I am in real life!

Perhaps so, because I don't know if I've found either my scrapping style or my decorating style. I'm still experimenting! But maybe that is a style. I think that I would have more of a decorating style if I could afford to do what I want. My house has suffered lately because we've been putting all the spare money into the backyard.

I think my scrapping style and my decorating style are fairly similar. I like things pretty simple and clean for the most part. I'd like things a little more color and decoration in my home but my DH is obsessive about white walls and lack of clutter. Oh well!

LOL, my scrapping style is all over the place as well...and like Sarah I'd say it relfects different aspects of myself. As for my home decor style I'd say it's lots of clean lines and warm colors and little accents..and that fits into the style of some of my pages.

Yes. :)

I am anti-knick knack, anti-cute, anti-country, anti-theme in both my home and my scrapping (for the most part).

My home is decorated in color, dark wood, interesting lamps, photos in simple frames, pattern... and I would say my scrapping is like that, too.

Though I scrap with LOTS of orange and don't really have a lot in my house & can't wear it since I am so pale.

my scrapping is all over the road *at least I think*. My home is decorated with dark woods, warm tones and accents here and there.. I don't know honestly what I would call my 'style'. I'm definitely not country or shabby.. interesting thought for the day "what style am I?"

kelly...your style is 'project hotness'. live it. love it. learn it. :D:D:D lol

Never thought of it like that, but yeah...I consider myself and clean and cute scrapper...just how I like things at home. :)

:w00t: Thanks for the reminder Lizzy.. I got lost for a moment, but I'm back on the saddle with what 'style' is mine. My 'style' is a sweet pair of tight, butt huggin' jeans *lmao*
I *heart* you!:)

I'm not sure what I'd call my scrapping style but I do think there are elements that show up in both. Clean lines, a touch of graphic elements, love of color - these definitely show up in both places.

i don't really know, lol. my house is usually cluttered. i have 3 kids ages 5, 3 and 2. its a small house, and we don't have a lot of storage to organize things so nothing is ever in its place, lol. It's not how i prefer it, but for now until we can finishe remodeling and get it how i want it this is how it is. But i guess if i could have my house looking the way i wanted, then it probably would reflect my scrapping style. my taste is sort of eclectic though. i like modern simple design, but DH hates it so i have none. we tend to go with more traditional stuff. so in some ways my sty reflects what i wish i had lol.

No. There are actual colors and things that are planned to go together & look good on my pages. :)

Most of my house was 'sell your house' white until last year, and we've lived her 11 years. Everything is/was neutral - beige soft furniture, light to medium woods, grey slate. White appliances.

My living room has hardwood bamboo floors and warm yellow walls. This was fine with my dark wood desk and our dark green slipcovered sofa (Which I hated. I hated that sofa witha passion). But the desk was ancient and not good for my back and as I said I hated the sofa. We painted the walls knowing these things, knowing we would replace those items. Welll. my folks sold their house & gave us their sofa set. Electric blue! With pink & light blue stripes. Reclining so you can't get sofa covers. The also gave me their L shaped office desk. PINK laminent!

My pages are also a lot more organized than my house is

My styles are all over the place, there's no set one for me. But there is no way that anything reflects my house, lol. Believe me,lol.

Heck no I have 4 kids so my house looks like a disaster zone preeeetty much all the time (said in my best Dr Cox's voice!!)!!! The only clean space Iz got is my scrapping place!!! :D :D :D
