I'm a little sad that I've had to change my avi so soon....my poor Cubbies got swept right out of the playoffs and all our hopes for maybe possibly actually winning the World Series for the first time in a *century* have been dashed. :(

*wah wah wah wah*

Well at least your Bears made up for it somewhat by demolishing the Lions.
Red Sox fans had to wait almost as long as the Cubs for their Series win, so maybe next year it will be the Cubs' turn.

I don't follow baseball too much but Dustin Pedroia is from my city. Of course he is a lot younger than me so I don't know him but my DH frequents his family's business here (a local tire shop).

I am still in shock. Or rather mourning. What is it about the Cubbies and the post season? it's sooo hard to watch as what could go wrong ... does.

i hear ya, Sara. We're huge Cubs fans too. It's sad to see us do so good, and then we get to the playoffs and we suck, lol. the Colts don't seem to be doing the greatest either.

I had to change mine too Sara, HUGE Cubbie fan here and now all I want to do is CRY!!!!! Oh well, at least I have my Bears & Steelers!!!!

LOL, thanks for the commiseration ladies! It's really such a silly thing in the big scheme of things, of course...but I think everyone was so hopeful that this year they could actually carry their success through the post season.

What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? LOL!

so now Go Bears!!

poor sara! i thought about you the other day when i heard the cubbies lost. :(

<----LOL!!!!! :D

I'm still in shock. :( I've always had a soft spot for the Cubbies, and when the MLB sounded the final death toll for our beloved Expos (RIP 'spos *sniff*) they became my team, especially after Craig and I got the chance to sit in the bleachers and soak up the atmosphere in and around Wrigley Field for a game back in 2000. I really thought this was going to be their year. :(

Oh, and a little FYI, or maybe a MLB in Canada history lesson, in case any of you are compelled to ask why I don't cheer for the Blue Jays. Only easterners actually think the Jays are "Canada's team." The Expos were Canada's team loooong before the stinkin' Blue Jays were around, and the way the MLB treated the Expos and their fans, and allowed that franchise to be poached out of Canada has left a bitter bitter taste in a lot of peoples' mouths. Anyway, most of us out west, save for a few displaced Torontonians and assorted freaks (hi Cody! :p), can't stand the Jays. Here in BC there are a lot of Mariner fans, and that has been considered "our team" by many for a long time, much moreso than the Jays.
